Daniel Chapter 8. Where is The Anti-Christ Coming From?

Verse 1&2) In the third year of the reign of king Bel-shaz’-zar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first. And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shu’-shan in the palace, which is in the province of E’-lam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of U’- lai. This prophecy was written in 539 B.C. TWO HUNDRED years before its fulfillment. This is a most amazing prediction of a clash, and the outcome between two world empires, neither of which had at the time of the prediction yet arisen.

Verse 3&4) Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher stood up last. I saw the ram pushing west-ward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great. The ram is Medo Persia. One horn being larger and coming up last is the Persian Empire which joined forces with the Medes. It conquered toward the West, North, and South.

Verse 5-8) And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power. And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand. Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven. The he goat that smote the ram with choler (anger) and broke his two horns (Medo Persia) was Greece and Alexander the Great. He took over the world from the west in 10 years, and at the height of his power he died. Alexander conquered the Persian Empire in 331 BC. The great horn that was broken was Alexander the Great, and the four notable ones are the four generals which divided up his Empire and ruled out of Egypt, Assyria, Turkey, and Greece.

Verse 9) And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land. This little horn is talking about the anti-christ and the different directions in which he will advance. The pleasant land is referring to Israel. The anti-christ will come from one of the divisions of Alexander’s Empire. He will come from Egypt, Assyria, Turkey, or Greece.

Verse 10) And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. The anti-christ will have great power from the devil. There will be a war in heaven where Michael (One of God’s main Angels) fights against the devil and his angels. “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.”(Daniel 12:1). “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” (Revelation 12: 7-12). The devil is allowed to come and stand before God, and accuse the saints, the saved Christians, but at this time he is cast out of heaven, and gathers a third of the angels who follow him to wreck havoc and hell on the earth for the last 3 1/2 years. The devil and his angels will be cast down to the earth, and the devil will enter the anti-christs body. The anti-christ will be raised from the dead when Satan enters his body. See our class on: Revelation Chapter 12 & 13.

Verse 11&12) Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down. And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered. The anti-christ will blaspheme Jesus, the prince of the host, and the anti-christ will take away the daily sacrifice which the Jews will be performing, in the soon to be rebuilt (for the third time) Jewish Temple. Remember the devil will possess the anti-christ and will try and destroy all the Bibles and Christian writings and outlaw all religions and force everyone to worship him and take his mark or be killed. (see Daniel 11:35). The anti-christ will even practice witchcraft to deceive his followers. The anti-christ is allowed this power by God by “reason of transgression”. This means a wicked people get a wicked ruler.

Verse 13&14) Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed. Daniel hears two saints or angels talking to each other, and one asks the other, how long shall it be from the daily sacrifice, and the transgression (Abomination) of desolation until the sanctuary (Temple) and the host be trodden under foot? The other angel answers and says there will be 2,300 days until the Temple is cleansed. The Temple will not be cleansed until Jesus comes back and the devil possessed anti-christ is kicked out of the Temple. When you add 75 days to 2,520 days (the amount of days in the last seven years) you get 2,595 days. The reason we are adding 75 days is because that is when the devil possessed anti-christ will be kicked out of the Temple ( into the lake of fire), by Jesus Christ himself, and the Temple will then be cleansed after the Battle of Armageddon. (see Daniel 12:11,12 and our class on Daniel 12 for a complete explanation). The Temple will not be cleansed at the Rapture, because the anti-christ will still be going into it. So from the time that the Covenant is confirmed to the cleansing of the sanctuary ( or Temple) there are 2,595 days, and if you subtract 2,300 days you get 295 days. This leaves 9 months and 25 days after the Covenant is confirmed before the daily sacrifices begins, which is plenty of time for the Jews to rebuild the Temple. Remember all of these figures are based on the Jewish calendar of twelve thirty day months per year. The Jews already have the building plans drawn up and the stones ready to start building. They are just waiting for an agreement or covenant to start. (See Daniel 9:27, and our class on Daniel 9). The chart in the Daniel 9 class will help you to better understand these verses and the last seven years, and 75 days after the rapture when the temple is cleansed.

Verse 15) And it came to pass, when I even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

Verse 16) And I heard a man’s voice between the banks of U’-lai, which called and said, Gabriel make this man to understand the vision.

Verse 17) So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for the time of the end shall be the vision.

Verse 18) Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me and set me up right.

Verse 19) And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. The Angel Gabriel is told by God and Jesus to explain the vision to Daniel.

Verse 20) The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Me’-di-a and Persia. Gabriel clearly tells Daniel that the ram with the two horns is the Medo -Persian Empire, and the two horns are the two main kings of Me’-di-a and Persia.

Verse 21) And the rough goat is the king of Gre’-ci-a: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. The rough goat is Greece and the great horn between his eyes is Alexander the Great, the first and only king.

Verse 22) Now that being broken, were as four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power. Alexander the great died after he had conquered the world in 10 years. Some say he was poisoned. His four main generals took over without him being there to appoint them, or any of his relatives succeeding him.

Verse 23) And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. This is talking about the anti-christ, and in the latter times of the kingdoms that took over from the death of Alexander. The four Generals ruled out of Egypt, Assyria, Turkey, and Greece. The anit-christ shall come from one of these four areas. The anit-christ will have a fierce countenance (full of the devil), and understand dark sentences. Could these dark sentences be talking about sharia law?

Verse 24) And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and show prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. The anti-christ will be under the devil’s power and he shall greatly destroy and prosper and practice (witchcraft) and persecute God’s people. How is the devil possessed anit-christ going to persecute God’s people if they are all raptured before the Great Tribulation? Obviously the false doctrine teaching of pre- tribulation Rapture is not true, and does not fit in with the scriptures.

Verse 25) And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand. Again, he will cause witchcraft to prosper and say he is God. He will claim to be for peace, and take over and destroy many. He shall stand up against the Prince of princes, (Jesus) but shall be broken without man’s hand but by God’s power.

Verse 26&27) And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days. And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it. Daniel got sick after getting the vision. A deep spiritual experience like this can cause a person to become physically weak and sick, especially after fighting the devil and his demons. Daniel did not even understand the vision because it was not for his time, it was for the future and the end times. Are you ready for a spiritual battle? The devil does not want you to understand the Book of Daniel, and he will fight you tooth claw and toe nail and anyway and every way he can. So the anti-Christ is coming from one of the country’s where Alexander The Great’s four main Generals divided up his Empire, and ruled from, after Alexander The Great’s death which was in Egypt, Assyria, Turkey, and Greece. The Assyrian Empire once ruled Moscow. In our teaching on Ezekiel Chapters 38,39 the Anti-Christ comes out of Moscow. Please read it in www.answersintheword.com .

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

Verse 1) IN the first year of Da-ri’-us the son of A-has-u-e’-rus’ of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chal-de’-ans; Daniel was still a prisoner of war in Babylon when the Medes took power.

Verse 2) In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish 70 years in the desolation’s of Jerusalem. Daniel was reading the prophecy of Jeremiah in Chapter 25:11 “And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon 70 years.” Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple in 586 B.C. Daniel received this prophecy in the first year of Darius the king of the Medes in 536 B.C. He realized from reading the prophecy of Jeremiah that the end of captivity for the Jews was coming soon. The Jews went into captivity from Babylon in 586 B.C. and were released in 516 B.C. 70 years later.

Verse 3-19) And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: Neither have we hearkened unto to thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whether thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him; Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him. And he has confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem. As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth. Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his work’s which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice. And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten the renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly. O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake. O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolation’s, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for  our righteousness, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, harken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city, and thy people are called by thy name.

Verse 20-23) And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God; Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give the skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and  I am come to show thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. The Prophet Daniel prayed a powerful heartfelt prayer to the Lord and took upon himself to represent his people Israel, and ask for God’s forgiveness for all the people of Israel. God sent Gabriel who also announced the birth of Jesus Christ to give him this following very important message and prophecy from God.

Daniel Chapter 9:24-27 Part 2 video&text (The Last 7 Years Chart)

Please check out this web link for really good information about the history leading up to the time when Daniel received this prophecy in Daniel Chapter 9 from the angel Gabriel, and to the time when the commandment was given to restore and re-build Jerusalem under the reign of King Artaxerxes when this amazing prophecy began.

http://youtu.be/ctWnd_3IBpM

Verse 24) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. The Angel Gabriel tells Daniel that there will be 70 weeks for Daniel’s people the Jews, and Jerusalem, to end sins, make reconciliation for iniquity, establish everlasting righteousness, and seal up, ( or finish) the vision and prophecy, and to anoint Jesus the most Holy King in Israel. The word of week comes from the Hebrew word “Shabuwa”, which means a period of seven years. This Bible verse found in Genesis 29:27 makes this point clear “Fulfill her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years. And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.” So you see how a week is seven years. 70 weeks therefore means 70×7 = 490 years. So the Angel tells Daniel that the Jews have 490 years to stop sins and anoint Jesus Christ the most Holy, as their King at Jerusalem.

Verse 25) Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall even in troublous times. The Lord wants you to understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem, which was given in 457 B.C. by king Artaxerxes of Persia that there would be a time period of 7 weeks or 49 years ( 7 X 7= 49), and three score (a score is 20, and three score is 60, or 3 X 20= 60) and two weeks. This brings us to a total of 69 weeks, or 7 + 62 = 69, or 483 years which is 69 x 7. In other words the Angel Gabriel tells us in his message from God that there would be a time period of 483 years from the time that the commandment went forth to restore and build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince. The word Messiah in Hebrew means “the anointed one”. In Greek it comes from the word “Krisos” which means “Christ”. What happened exactly 483 years after the commandment was given by king Artaxerxes of Persia to restore and rebuild Jerusalem? Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and the heavens were opened and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove, and landed on Jesus. “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.” (Luke 3:21-23). This is when Jesus was anointed by God to begin his public ministry. This is when he fulfilled the Prophecy of the Anointed One, the Messiah. This happened in 26 A.D. This is truly an amazing prophecy, predicting the exact year when Jesus was baptized and received his anointing to begin his public ministry as the Messiah, The Son of God, to die for our sins.

Verse 26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolation’s are determined. It is interesting to note that verse 25 and 26 talk about the 69 weeks broken up into two parts, seven weeks, and 62 weeks, for a total of 69 weeks. This is because it took 49 years (7 weeks, or 7 X 7, or 7 Shabuwas) to rebuild the street and the wall of Jerusalem during very troublous times when the Jews enemies were trying to destroy them. Read the Book of Nehemiah for a good understanding of the history of this time period. Jesus the Messiah was crucified in 30 A.D., after the seven and 62 weeks which ended in 26 A.D. when Jesus was baptized and anointed by God to be the Messiah to begin his public ministry and die for the sins of the world. “but not for himself” he died for us. The people of the prince that shall come (notice the small “p” on prince) is talking about the anti-christ, in specific here it is talking about the Romans who are part of the devil’s people (the people of the prince that shall come) who have been around ever since Cain killed his brother Able. The Romans destroyed the city and the Temple in 70 A.D. When Titus the Roman General attacked Jerusalem and crucified around a million Jews, as Jesus predicted would happen.  “The end thereof shall be with a flood”, this is referring to the great amount of Roman soldiers that destroyed Jerusalem, and up to the great amount of soldiers of the anit-christ during the end times “and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid”. (Psalm 18:4b). “Unto to the end of the war desolation’s are determined.” This is talking about the spiritual war that we fight everyday against the devil and his demons. There will be great destruction’s and desolation’s until the end of the war when Jesus takes over the world.

Verse 27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the over spreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Here is the last seven years, or 70th week. The “he” that shall confirm the covenant is talking about the anti-christ, or “the prince that shall come” in verse 26. A covenant is some sort of an agreement, or peace treaty that will allow the Jews to rebuild their temple and re-Institute the daily sacrifices, since they don’t believe in Jesus and accept him and his forgiveness for sin. Therefore they are bound by the Old Testament laws of animal sacrifice for atonement for sins. The anti-christ will confirm this covenant. This event will start the last seven years. In the middle of the last seven years he will take away the daily sacrifice and place the abomination of desolation, until the wrath of God is poured out upon his followers and the devil is thrown into the bottomless pit and bound and chained for 1,000 years, and the anti-christ and the false prophet are thrown into the Lake of Fire. (see our classes on Revelation Chapter  7-20)

DANIEL CHAPTER 11

Verse 1) Also in the first year of Da-ri’-us the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen him. This appears to be an Angel speaking. Possibly Gabriel who had given the prophecy of Daniel chapter 9 to Gods prophet Daniel. This prophecy was written in 536 B.C. This was the first year of King Darius of the Medes, who joined with the Persians, and became the Medo- Persian Empire.

Verse 2-4) And now will I shew thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Gre’- ci-a. And a mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do according to his will. And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which he ruled; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those. The three kings in Persia were Cyrus, Cambyses, Darius, and the fourth was Xerxes, the richest and most powerful of the Persian kings. He invaded Greece but was defeated at Salamis. These prophecy’s were written over 200 years before there was a Greek Empire. The Greek Empire was founded in 331 B.C. By Alexander the Great. At his death the Greek Empire was divided up between his four main Generals. They ruled from Egypt, Assyria, Turkey, and Greece.”Not to his posterity’ refers to the fact that Alexander’s empire was not given to any of his relatives to take over, neither did he dictate who should rule after him.It has been said that Alexander the Great, when asked, Who should rule after him, he said; “Whoever is the strongest.”

Verse 5-20) And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion. And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times. But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail: And shall also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than the king of the north. So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land. But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress. And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand. And when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it. For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches. And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand. But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed. He shall also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women, corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him. After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him. Then he shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and fall, and not be found. Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. These verses refer to the different kings and their different actions from the remains of Alexander’s empire until the anti-christ arises.

Verse 21) And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. The anit-christ is a vile person because he is possessed by the devil himself. The anti-christ will not be given the honour of the kingdom. Could this mean he will come to power by voter fraud, or by lies and false promises, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries?

Verse 22) And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the Covenant. The anti-christ will have great armies to take over those who oppose him and even the prince of the Covenant. This could be talking about the one who wrote the covenant that he confirmed in Daniel 9:27, which starts the last seven years.” With the arms of a flood”, sounds like great armies. “The sorrows of death compassed me,and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.” (Psalms 18:4).

Verse 23) And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully; for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people. He works his way in with deceit through minority’s.

Verse 24) He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil , and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time. He will come in deceitfully even on the most wealthy country and countries, not like previous dictators who came in and took power by force. He shall use socialism and distribute the riches to the poor, and give out ultimatums for a time.

Verse 25) And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to do battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him. There will be nations that war against the anti-christ and his armies. These “devices” could be spiritual such as witchcraft, or electronic magnetic pulses (E.M.P’s) which will knock out electronics and computers, and cause cyber warfare, causing great confusion, and chaos, and collapse of whole nations and economies, and armies. The Great Confusion.

Verse 26) Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain. This could be referring to betrayals which will take place by nations who supported and helped him to power.

Verse 27) And both these kings hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. This sounds like the United Nations, speaking lies that do not prosper at one table. This verse also shows us how that ultimately God is in control, and has an appointed time for the end.

Verse 28)Then shall he return into his own land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land. The anti-christ will do great exploits and conquer many, and in his heart he is against the covenant, because he wants to proclaim himself as God.

Verse 29-30) At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. For the ships of Chit’-tim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant; so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that  forsake the holy covenant. The ships of Chit’-tim refers to Britain who will send their ships, and possibly air ships also against the anti-christ. He will conspire and have intelligence with them that are against the covenant and the Jewish daily sacrifices. Possibly the Muslims.

Verse 31) And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. The anti-christ will have the force of his armies on his side and he will make the Jews stop their daily sacrifices and he will place the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION. This event will start the last three and one half years,The Great Tribulation period. (See our class on Matthew 24).

Verse 32) And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits. He will lie and flatter and corrupt the people who are also against the covenant and the Jewish sacrifices in the Temple. The people who know Jesus will be doing mighty miracles and leading many to the Lord.

Verse 33) And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. For 1,260 days the Christians will be under heavy persecution while they witness to the world about what is going on.

Verse 34) Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries. The Holy Spirit will help the saved through these times, and the Lord will raise up people to help us, and many will come to the saved believers for help, but be careful that they aren’t spy’s seeking a reward for turning you in.

Verse 35) And some of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time appointed. Many believers will be killed, to try, and to purge, and to prepare us to meet the Lord.

Verse 36) And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3,4)

Verse 37) Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. He doesn’t regard any god but himself, nor have a desire for women, or care about their desires.

Verse 38,39) But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain. The god of forces could be talking about nuclear power,” a god whom his fathers knew not” which he will heavily invest into and use.See our class on Revelation Chapters 8 & 9,which tells of the effects of nuclear warfare. “He shall divide the land for gain”, (spread the wealth around) to gain supporters.Sounds like Socialism  ?

Verse 40) And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over. The anit-christ will be under many attacks.

Verse 41) He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even E’-dom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. The glorious land is Israel. These Arab countries and their leader will escape out of his hand. Possibly because of being on his side against the covenant and the Jewish daily sacrifice.

Verse 42-44) He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Lib’-yans and E-thi-o’-pi-ans shall be at his steps. But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many. He will subdue Egypt and take power over their wealth. With great anger and fury will he go after all who oppose him. “Woe unto the inhablitors of the earth, and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth, that he hath but a short time.” ( Revelation 12:12b)

Verse 45) And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. He will place his palace between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea and sit in the Temple proclaiming himself god and no one will be able to help him when Jesus comes.

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

DANIEL CHAPTER 12

Verse 1) And at that time, shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, everyone that shall be found written in the book. Michael is one of God’s main Angels, or archangels, like a top General Angel in Jesus’s army of Angels. He will stand up, and come forth and fight for God’s people, leading a great army of Angels with him against the devil and his angels and demons in the end times. Jesus said; When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: and then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”( Matthew 24:15,21,29,30,31).You really need to study and have a good understanding of the Book of Revelation, and other related End Time Prophecy classes, and our class on Matthew Chapter 24, to understand the Book of Daniel. These classes can all be easily found in this web site under “Bible Prophecy”. “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.”(2 Timothy 3:13). World events will steadily get worse until the rapture of the saved, and then the seven vials of God’s wrath are poured upon the earth while the saved are in heaven at the marriage supper of the Lamb. All the saved will be delivered from the wrath of God,(BUT NOT THE GREAT TRIBULATION) and taken to Heaven. Everyone whose name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The Lord keeps a record of everyone who has been saved, and a record of what we do in this life.“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” ( Revelation 12:7-12)

Verse 2) And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. The Bible says, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (I Thessalonians 4:16,17).“Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (II Corinthians 15:51,52). At the seventh trumpet the rapture takes place, and the dead saved are resurrected first, and the saved which are alive are taken up to heaven before the vials of the Wrath of God are poured out upon the earth. The Rapture will take place in the twinkling of and eye. Some will be happy to see Jesus, and some will be ashamed because they didn’t serve the Lord in their time here on earth.I think all Christians who have been alive at anytime at all, have done and said things they are ashamed of. But the good news is that the blood of Jesus Christ washes away all of our sins. All we have to do is ask Jesus to forgive us and he does, and our sins are washed away forever, by faith in his blood. So have communion often as Jesus commanded us to do.

Verse 3) And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth  souls is wise.” (Proverbs 11:30)  So if you want to shine like the stars then win souls for Jesus Christ !

Verse 4) But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. The Angel tells Daniel just to write the book and shut it up and seal it until the time of the end when many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Well, this is one reason that we know it is the time of the end, because the book of Daniel has now been opened and revealed to us. Behold before your eyes and in your hearing the scriptures are being fulfilled in www.answersintheword.com as the truth of the Book of Daniel is now opened unto you ! Many are running to and fro all over the world as world travel was virtually unheard of just 100 years ago, and knowledge has been greatly increased, from letter writing to Internet, and computers, not to mention advances in science and other technology. This is another amazing sign of the Time of the end.

Verse 5-7)Then I Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river. And one said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How long shall it be to the end of these wonders? And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. This is talking about the great tribulation. For 3 1/2 years, or time, times, and a half. When the anit-christ has scattered God’s people and it looks like the end for us, then Jesus comes to rescue the saved that are still alive on earth. A time is one year. Times is two years, and a half of a time is one half of a year, equaling three and a half years. This is explained in Revelations 12:6 &14.“And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.  And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” 1,260 days is three and a half years in the Hebrew calendar of twelve 30 day months,or a time, times, and a half of a time.

Verse 8,9) And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord what shall be the end of these things? And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end. Daniel did not understand, and he is told to go his way, and the words would be revealed at the time of the end, as they now are to you, as you study these classes.

Verse 10) Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. The wicked unsaved who reject Jesus and the truth of his Word will not understand these prophecies. Jesus said, “Blessed are those that do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled.” (Matthew 5:6).“and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12)

Verse 11,12) And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. These are the only two verses in the Bible that give us a time frame for the two main events that happen after the rapture. These two events are, the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, and the Seven Vials of the Wrath of God, which are poured out upon the earth, while the saved are in Heaven. We know that there are 1,260 days in the Great Tribulation, from the time that the Abomination Of Desolation is placed in the Temple, until the Rapture. 1,290 days are 30 days more past 1,260 days. Then it says,Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.” (Daniel 12:12).  1,335 days minus 1,260 days equals 75 total days for these two events, the Rapture and the Seven Vials of the Wrath of God ! Why are they blessed that wait and come to the end of these 75 days?  Because that is when the Millennium begins, and the 1,000 year reign of Jesus Christ on the earth ! So this gives us a time period, of a total of 75 days past the rapture. During this 75 day period the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will occur, and also the Seven Vials of the Wrath of God will be poured out upon the earth, ending with the Seventh Vial which is the battle of Armageddon. Maybe the first 30 day period mentioned in verse 11 will be for the Marriage Supper of the Lamb, and the next 45 days may be for the Vials of Wrath to be poured out. We don’t know why the Lord broke up these time periods into 30 days and 45 days for a total of 75 days, but we will soon someday find out. This seems to be the best explanation for the 30 and 45 days so far.

Verse 13) But go thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest and stand in thy lot at the end of the days. Even though Daniel could not understand all these prophecies because they were not for his day. He is told to just rest and don’t worry about it, because he will get his reward at the end of days.

Amen.

Revelation Chapter 1

Verse 1-3) THE REVELATION of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: Who bear record of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. God gave Jesus the revelation and Jesus sent his angel to give it to John. There is a blessing promised to all who read and hear these words.

Verse 4-6) John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the sevens spirits which are before his throne; and from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. And have made us kings and priests unto God and his father; to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. John is writing to the seven churches which were in Asia at that time. He was not writing too different church ages, as some people teach.

Verse 7,8) Behold he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega the beginning and the ending saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold two men stood by them in white apparel; Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus ,which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:9-11). “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matthew 24:30). When Jesus appears he will take all the saved to heaven, he will appear in the clouds.

Verse 9) I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom in patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. The Romans put John in a prison on an island called Patmos. They tried to kill him by putting him in a vat of boiling oil, but he would not boil. So they just put him in prison since they couldn’t kill him, they thought they could just keep him silenced and he couldn’t do much damage that way locked up in prison, but little did they know that Jesus was going to give him the book of Revelation which has gone on to witness to countless numbers of souls.

Verse 10,11) I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet. Saying, I am Alpha, and Omega, the first and the last: and what thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea. These are specific churches which were in Asia at the time when John wrote to them which was around 90 A.D.

Verse 12-20) And I turned to see the voice that spake with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with the golden girdle. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength. And when I saw him I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches. This is Jesus Christ himself appearing to John and telling him to write down the things which he had seen, and the things which are, and the things that shall be in the future, in the book of Revelation. Revelation means to unvail or to reveal.

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

Revelation Chapter 2

Verse 1) UNTO the angel of the church of Eph’-e-sus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candelsticks; Remember from chapter one; The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven candelsticks are the seven churches which were in Asia at that time. It seems as if every church had, or has it’s own angel watching over it. Jesus was holding the seven stars in his right hand ( the seven angels of the seven churches), and the seven candelsticks are the seven churches. Jesus has a message for the church at Eph’-e-sus.

Verse 2) I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: Jesus said, that they were not putting up with false teachers and false apostles, which was a good thing, because they knew the Word.Do you, or does your church put up with false teachings, or false apostles? Do you search the scriptures daily to see if these things be so, or do you just blindly follow some Pastor, and say, ” We pay him to do that , and tell us the way”? “These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.” (Acts 17:11)

Verse 3) And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. They have been working for the Lord patiently, and have not fainted, or given up.

Verse 4) Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because tho hast left thy first love. This is the main sin that any Christian can commit. We should always love the Lord first in our hearts. “Jesus said unto him, THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND WITH ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND.” ( Matthew 22:37).

Verse 5) Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. Jesus tells them to repent and turn back to him quickly. All of these lessons that Jesus is telling to all these churches, we should each apply to ourselves.

Verse 6) But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Ni-co-la-i-tanes, which I also hate. The deeds of the Ni-co-la-i-tanes are a bit of a mystery. Some scholars attribute their deeds to abstaining from having marital relations as the Catholic Priests do today. Jesus said he hates this.”Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:” (1 Timothy 4:1-4). Jesus loves children, and wants his people to have children. How can a Priest or teacher counsel or teach anyone about raising a family, when they themselves never have had children?

Verse 7) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God. You over come by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”( Revelation 12:11).

Verse 8,9) And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty,( but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. The church at Smyrna was made up of people that were poor, but Jesus tells them they are rich spiritually. The Jews persecuted the Christians. Jesus tells them they are not Jews but followers of Satan. “For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.”( Romans 2:28,29). If you have accepted Jesus Christ as your savior, then you are a spiritual Jew in the eyes of God.“And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29)

Verse 10) Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Jesus promised the Christians at Smyrna a crown of life for enduring the Roman persecution.

Verse 11) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. The second death is the Great White Throne Judgment. Saved believers will not have to go through this. It is called the second death. “ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” ( Revelation 20: 11-15). If you are only born once you will die twice. If you are born twice ( or born again, John 3: 1-8) then you only have to die once, unless you live until the rapture, and then you don’t have to die at all. The unsaved dead will be resurrected at the Great White Throne Judgement and judged according to their works. There are different levels in Hell where they will be assigned. The worst being the Lake of Fire, where the devil and the Anti-Christ and the False Prophet will be there.

Verse 12-17) And to the angel of the church in Per’-ga-mos write; These things saith he which hath the sharp sword with two edges; I know thy works, and where thou dwellest, even where Satan’s seat is: and thou holdest fast my name. And hast not denied my faith, even in those days wherein An’ti-pas was my faithful martyr, who was slain among you, where Satan dwelleth. But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Ba’-laam, who taught Ba’-lac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nic-o-la’-i-tanes, which thing I hate. Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. He that hath and ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden man’-na, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it. Jesus is speaking to the angel, and, or the leader in the church of Per’-ga-mos, and to all the people in the church. The sharp twoedged sword is also found in Revelation 19:15 “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron:and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.” (Hebrew 4:12)  “For the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  The doctrine of Ba’-lam refers to Numbers Chapters 25, and 31:16. Ba’-lam advised the Children of Israel to seek after Midianite harlots and heathen gods. Evidently there was a large following of people in Pergamos who were following the doctrine of Balam. Jesus tells the church to be overcomers and they will get to eat of the hidden manna and get a white stone with a new name written in it. We don’t know for sure what the hidden manna is or what the white stone is for but we do know this. “But as it is written, EYE HATH NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NEITHER HAVE ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN,THE THINGS WHICH GOD HATH PREPARED FOR THEM THAT LOVE HIM.” (I Corinthians 2:9). Some things we will just have to wait until we get to Heaven to fully understand.

Verse 18-24) And unto the angel of the church in Thy-a-ti’-ra write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass; I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jez’-e-bel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacificed unto idols. And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works. But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thy-a-ti’-ra, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden. Jesus has some good things to say about this church, but he is very mad about this woman named Jez’-e-bel. Thy-a-ti’-ra was famous for it’s great temple Artemis, another name for the goddess Diana. She was introducing the same foul practices as Jez’-e-bel the devilish wife of king Ahab to the Christians at Thy-a-ti’-ra. ( I Kings Chapter 16). Jesus called her teachings the deep things of Satan.

Verse 25-27) But that which ye have already hold fast till I come. And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And HE SHALL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON; AS THE VESSELS OF A POTTER SHALL THEY BE BROKEN TO SHIVERS: even as I received of my Father. Be faithful unto death and you will rule and reign under the King of Kings Jesus Christ.

Verse 28,29) And I will give him the morning star. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Jesus said he was the bright and morning star. ( Revelation 22:16).

Amen.

Revelation Chapter 3

Verse 1-2) AND UNTO the angel of the church in Sar’-dis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. This is Jesus talking to the church in Sar’-dis. He is telling them they are spiritually dead, but there are some that are still alive but almost ready to die spiritually. “Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.” (Luke 9:60) This verse tells us that some people are spiritually dead even though they are physically alive, walking around like Zombies. Don’t let it happen to you. Stay in the Word and Prayer and witnessing. The best cure for personal or personell problems is the witnessing battel front!

Verse 3-4) Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Thou hast a few names even in Sar’-dis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Jesus will come as a thief in the night to those who are not prepared and are spiritually dead.

Verse 5) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Some people use this verse to say you can lose your salvation. However we know that in the light of all the other scriptures that clearly state that you can not lose your salvation ( see the classes on Salvation, and all the scriptures that show you that you can not lose your salvation). Do you see how important it is to rightly divide the word of truth?( II Timothy 2:15). Revelation 12: 11 tells us that we over come by faith in the blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God. At the Great White Throne Judgment when the Book of Life is opened, those whose names who are not found written in it are cast into the lake of fire.( Revelation Chapter 20). This can only happen to people who have rejected Jesus. The saved will not be standing before the Great White Throne of God to be judged, because we have already pleaded guilty, and received Jesus Christ as our Savior and his death on the cross as punishment for our sins, and have over come death and hell by faith in the blood of Jesus .

Verse 6) He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. The Lord wants us to have spiritual ears to hear what he is saying to us.

Verse 7-13) And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, HE THAT HATH THE KEY OF DAVID, HE THAT OPENETH, AND NO MAN SHUTTETH; AND SHUTTETH, AND NO MAN OPENETH; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou has a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dewell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. He that hath and ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Jesus has only good things to say about this church in Philadelphia. They have kept his word and Jesus said he would keep them from the hour of temptation. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.”  (Hebrews 13:8). Jesus said, that he would give a white stone with a new name written in it to everyone that over comes in Revelation 2:1. Some things in the scriptures we will just have to wait until we get to Heaven to get a complete understanding of. This is one of them.

Verse 14-19) And unto the angel of the church of the La-od-i-ce’-ans write; These things saith the A-men’, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would that thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eye salve, that thou mayest see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Jesus was the first of all that God created.Jesus tells the church in La-od-i-cea to repent quickly, because they are lukewarm, and are rich with this worlds goods; but not spiritually rich in the eyes of God.

Verse 20) Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. This is a great salvation verse that you can use to lead somebody to the Lord.

Verse 21,22) To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. Many times in the scriptures Jesus tells us to be overcomers and to overcome. We can’t do this by our own righteous works, but only by faith in his blood, and his love, and mercy, and grace. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” ( Titus 3:5). “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works lest any man should boast.”  (Ephesians 2:8,9). Salvation = GRACE + FAITH + NOTHING ELSE ! ! ! Each of us should examine ourselves in the light of these different admonitions from Jesus, and ask the Lord to show us what applies to us.

Amen.
