Responsibility

Most people who are business owners or managers or leaders have a deep sense of responsibility. They are concerned about the people they work for and the people that work for them. They are concerned that they do a good job because that is a reflection on them personally and their relationship to Jesus Christ, and their witness and testimony. People should look at us and say “there is something different about these folks.” They are concerned about their employees and making their payroll, and making their clients and customers happy first of all, and paying their bills before even themselves . This feeling of responsibility comes from God who made us and all things. It’s like birds who take long flights during the winter out of instinct knowing that it must be done to survive and flourish at great personal sacrifice and even danger. In other words it’s not a natural thing that the flesh wants to do. “Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder. And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour? Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:36-41). “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” (Galatians 5:17). The flesh just wants to flesh out and be a couch potato but the spirit wants to rise up and go on to greater victories for Jesus.

This personal sacrifice gives leaders a great sense of satisfaction and even JOY in helping others. Remember a great way to spell and receive JOY is Jesus Others and You. We need to pray and ask Jesus to give us a sense of Responsibility knowing that we will all appear before Jesus Christ. “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10). Will he say unto you “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”(Matthew 25:23). This is what we all should be living for, is to hear Jesus say this unto us personally!

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me your peace. Amen.
