Daniel Chap 9:1-23 Part 1 video&text (70 Weeks Chart)

Please check out this web link for really good information about the history leading up to the time when Daniel received this prophecy in Daniel Chapter 9 from the angel Gabriel.

Verse 1) IN the first year of Da-ri’-us the son of A-has-u-e’-rus’ of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chal-de’-ans;

Verse 2) In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish 70 years in the desolation’s of Jerusalem. Daniel was reading the prophecy of Jeremiah in Chapter 25:11 “And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon 70 years.” Nebuchadnezzar conquered Jerusalem and destroyed the Temple in 586 B.C. Daniel received this prophecy in the first year of Darius the king of the Medes in 536 B.C. Daniel was a prisoner of war. He realized from reading the prophecy of Jeremiah that the end of captivity for the Jews was coming soon. The Jews went into captivity from Babylon in 586 B.C. and were released in 516 B.C. 70 years later.

Verse 3-19) And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes: And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: Neither have we hearkened unto to thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whether thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him; Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets. Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him. And he has confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem. As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth. Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his work’s which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice. And now, O Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and hast gotten the renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we have done wickedly. O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a reproach to all that are about us. Now therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake. O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolation’s, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for  our righteousness, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, harken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city, and thy people are called by thy name.

Verse 20-23) And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God; Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and  I am come to show thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision. The Prophet Daniel prayed a powerful heartfelt prayer to the Lord and took upon himself to represent his people Israel, and ask for God’s forgiveness for all the people of Israel. God sent Gabriel who also announced the birth of Jesus Christ to give him this following very important message and prophecy from God.

If you can understand this class on this chapter on Daniel 9 and teach it to others, then you have opened perhaps the greatest mystery treasure in God’s Word, and proved you are a real follower of Jesus Christ! Congratulations! “And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God:” (Mark 4:11a).

Daniel Chapter 9:24-27 Part 2 video&text (The Last 7 Years Chart)

Please check out this web link for really good information about the history leading up to the time when Daniel received this prophecy in Daniel Chapter 9 from the angel Gabriel, and to the time when the commandment was given to restore and re-build Jerusalem under the reign of King Artaxerxes when this amazing prophecy began.

Verse 24) Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. The Angel Gabriel tells Daniel that there will be 70 weeks for Daniel’s people the Jews, and Jerusalem, to end sins, make reconciliation for iniquity, establish everlasting righteousness, and seal up, ( or finish) the vision and prophecy, and to anoint Jesus the most Holy King in Israel. The word “WEEK” comes from the Hebrew word “Shabuwa”, which means a period of seven years. This Bible verse found in Genesis 29:27 makes this point clear “Fulfill her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years. And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.” So you see how a week is seven years. 70 weeks therefore means 70×7 = 490 years. So the Angel tells Daniel that the Jews have 490 years to stop sins and anoint Jesus Christ the most Holy, as their King at Jerusalem.

Verse 25) Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall even in troublous times. The Lord wants you to understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem, which was given in 457 B.C. by king Artaxerxes of Persia that there would be a time period of 7 weeks or 49 years ( 7 X 7= 49), and three score (a score is 20, and three score is 60, or 3 X 20= 60) and two weeks. This brings us to a total of 69 weeks, or 7 + 62 = 69, or 483 years which is 69 x 7. In other words the Angel Gabriel tells us in his message from God that there would be a time period of 483 years from the time that the commandment went forth to restore and build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince. The word Messiah in Hebrew means “the anointed one”. In Greek it comes from the word “Krisos” which means “Christ”. What happened exactly 483 years after the commandment was given by king Artaxerxes of Persia to restore and rebuild Jerusalem? Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, and the heavens were opened and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove, and landed on Jesus. “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, and the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.” (Luke 3:21-23). This is when Jesus was anointed by God to begin his public ministry. This is when he fulfilled the Prophecy of the Anointed One, the Messiah. This happened in 26 A.D. This is truly an amazing prophecy, predicting the exact year when Jesus was baptized and received his anointing to begin his public ministry as the Messiah, The Son of God, to die for our sins.

Verse 26) And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolation’s are determined. It is interesting to note that verse 25 and 26 talk about the 69 weeks broken up into two parts, seven weeks, and 62 weeks, for a total of 69 weeks. This is because it took 49 years (7 weeks, or 7 X 7, or 7 Shabuwas) to rebuild the street and the wall of Jerusalem during very troublous times when the Jews enemies were trying to destroy them. Read the Book of Nehemiah for a good understanding of the history of this time period. Jesus the Messiah was crucified in 30 A.D., after the seven and 62 weeks which ended in 26 A.D. when Jesus was baptized and anointed by God to be the Messiah to begin his public ministry and die for the sins of the world. “but not for himself” he died for us. The people of the prince that shall come (notice the small “p” on prince) is talking about the anti-christ, in specific here it is talking about the Romans who are part of the devil’s people (the people of the prince that shall come) who have been around ever since Cain killed his brother Able. The Romans destroyed the city and the Temple in 70 A.D. When Titus the Roman General attacked Jerusalem and crucified around a million Jews, as Jesus predicted would happen.  “The end thereof shall be with a flood”, this is referring to the great amount of Roman soldiers that destroyed Jerusalem, and up to the great amount of soldiers of the anit-christ during the end times “and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid”. (Psalm 18:4b). “Unto to the end of the war desolation’s are determined.” This is talking about the spiritual war that we fight everyday against the devil and his demons. There will be great destruction’s and desolation’s until the end of the war when Jesus takes over the world.

Verse 27) And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the over spreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Here is the last seven years, or 70th week. The “he” that shall confirm the covenant is talking about the anti-christ, or “the prince that shall come” in verse 26. A covenant is some sort of an agreement, or peace treaty that will allow the Jews to rebuild their temple and re-Institute the daily sacrifices, since they don’t believe in Jesus and accept him and his forgiveness for sin. Therefore they are bound by the Old Testament laws of animal sacrifice for atonement for sins. The anti-christ will confirm this covenant. This event will start the last seven years. In the middle of the last seven years he will take away the daily sacrifice and place the abomination of desolation, until the wrath of God is poured out upon his followers and the devil is thrown into the bottomless pit and bound and chained for 1,000 years, and the anti-christ and the false prophet are thrown into the Lake of Fire. (see our classes on Revelation Chapter  7-20)

“And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of all his servants. And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is?  And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:  thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou.  And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.  And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;  and he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.  And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.  And Pharaoh called Joseph’s name Zaphnath-paaneah; and he gave him to wife Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On. And Joseph went out over all the land of Egypt. And Joseph was thirty years old when he stood before Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went throughout all the land of Egypt.  And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.  And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.  And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number. And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Poti-pherah priest of On bare unto him.  And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house.  And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction. And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended. And the seven years of dearth began to come, according as Joseph had said: and the dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.  And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.  And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.  And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.”(Genesis 41:37-57)

1961 B.C. The birth of Joseph (increase).”and she called his name Joseph; and said, The Lord shall add to me another son.”(Genesis 30:24)

1944 B.C. The birth of Benjamin (the son of the right hand).”And they journeyed from Beth-el; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour.  And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also.  And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Ben-oni: but his father called him Benjamin.  And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.  And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel’s grave unto this day.” (Genesis 35:16-20)

1944 B.C. Joseph sold into slavery ( 17 years old).” Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.”(Genesis 37:28)

(1931 to 1924 B.C.) The birth of Ephraim ( that grows) and Manasses ( forgetfulness). “ And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father’s house. And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” ( Genesis 41:51,52)

1922 B.C. Jacob enters Egypt.” And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred forty and seven years.” ( Genesis 47:28)

1905 B.C. The death of Jacob ( 147 years old).

Joseph means “increase”, and increase he did! In Joseph’s own words, “God…hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.” Genesis 45:8. And Pharaoh said of Joseph, “I am Pharaoh, and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt.” ( Genesis 41:44).

WORLD HISTORY FROM CREATION Part 14

The people of UR of the Chaldeans lived in beautiful and comfortable two-storied homes of about fifteen rooms. The kings of Ur were buried with all of their belongings, including their oxen, furniture and helpers. It seems that their servants took poison or breathed some gas and died in the tomb with their master.

Lotflees Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed about 2112B.C. In 1924, Albright and Kyle, Discovered the ruins of cities at the southeast corner of the Dead Sea. It Seems that a tremendous number of people once lived there in a very fertile “garden-like” region which is now only desolate. These archaeologists tell us that for some reason the population seems to have suddenly “ceased” about the year 2000 B.C. ! (Genesis 19: 24,25) The historian Josephus claims that even in his time, in the desert region on the Southeast side of the Dead Sea there was a pillar of salt which had the features of a human which had been there for centuries. ( It still stands!) (Genesis 19:26) Jack Finegan, an American Scholar, in 1951 concluded that the cities of this region ( Sodom and Gomorrah) were destroyed by a great earthquake which was accompanied by volcanic explosions, lightnings, and great amounts of burning natural gas that was released from the earth at that time, about the year 2000 B. C. Potiphar- the name of the rich officer that bought Joseph- means “the fat bull”. When Joseph became the ruler he married the daughter of Poti-pherah the priest , which means ” he that scatters or demolishes the fat”. Under Joseph’s rule this is exactly what he did to all the “fat” landlords and rich of Egypt. After 7 years of famine the people of Egypt were reduced to the level of serfs in feudal subjection to Pharaoh to whom they had given their every belonging- gold, silver, jewels, cattel, lands, and even freedom- in exchange for the food Joseph had laid up. Pharaoh became the absolute owner and ruler of Egypt through Joseph’s administration. The Egyptians were moved off the farms and into the cities. Pharaoh gave the Hebrews control of his personal flocks and herds- which soon turned out to be most of the livestock of Egypt as the famine grew worse! ( Genesis 47:13-26) The Egyptians Historian Manerto wrote, ” In the reign of Tutimaeus it happened. I do not know why God was displeased with us. Unexpectedly from the East, came men of unknown race. Confident of victory they marched against our land. By force they took it, easily, without a single battle. Having overpowered our rulers they burned our cities without compassion, and destroyed the temples of the gods. All the native s were treated with great cruelty for they slew some and carried off the wives and children of others into slavery. Finally they appointed one of themselves as “king”. It is believed that these ” Shepherd Kings” were in power when Joseph came to Egypt. These Hyksos were the first to bring fast chariots to Egypt and used them in public ceremonies. Joseph was “viceroy” of Egypt and rode in the chariot behind Pharaoh. ( Genesis 41:43) The seat of the Hyksos government was in the delta,as was the ” Land of Goshen”.

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

WORLD HISTORY FROM CREATION Part 13

MapAbrahamsWorld

Abraham taught the Egyptians mathematics and astronomy, which knowledge he brought from Mesopotamia, where there were many libraries with records from before the Flood, There are Babylonian tablets still being found in this region that make reference to the time before the Flood. There were two routes through Canaan in the days of Abraham- Abraham preferred to take the lonely, difficult road through the mountainous country rather than going through the fertile valleys of the Plain of Jezreel along the coast of Judah. Abraham must have been a mountain man! And thus he escaped the valley people! The ancient city of Mari was supposed to have been the tenth city built after the flood. Hammurabi’s Armies destroyed the city. The ancient cities like Mari used methods of rapid communication that were as effective as modern telegraph. The messages were sent by means of ” fire signals” from the frontier of Babylon right up to the present day Turkey in a matter of a few hours, a distance of more than 300 miles. Abraham passed through such cities. In the days of Abraham and Moses there was a Great Wall guarding the route into Egypt, called ” The Princes Wall”. The wall was armed with archers on the wall and towers. The wall, it seems, was built shortly after the Flood when Egypt was being founded. A long account of an Egyptian name Sinuhe tells of his escape from trouble in Egypt, the problem of getting across the ” The Princes Wall” and his life and adventures in Canaan, and his eventual return to Egypt. The story was written at the time of Abraham and gives a good idea what life in Canaan was like then. Hammurabi was a famous king that lived at the same time as Abraham. This king of the city of Babylon became very powerful and is remembered for writing down some laws and codes fro the people to live by. The code is written out on a stone 8 feet long and 2 feet wide and has about 4000 lines of text.

And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen.(Genesis 22:1-14)

The name Jehovah-jireh: means the Lord will provide for his servants.

“AND WHEN Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou prefect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee  exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee. And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed, after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations. This is my covenant which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised. And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you. And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed. He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant. And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant. And God said unto Abraham , As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah thai is ninety years old, bear? And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for and everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he begat, and I will make him a great nation. But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year. And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham. (Genesis 17:1-22)

Through Abraham ,Isaac, and Jacob, and their seed, all the world is truly blessed because Jesus Christ, The Messiah, and Saviour of the World came forth.

” And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly, And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confounded their language, one another’s speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the Lord did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the Lord scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. ” ( Genesis 11:3-9)

The city of Ur during Abraham’s time had a huge temple in it that was built after the pattern of the Tower of Babel. At this temple the people worshiped the moon god, Sin, and his wife, Ningal ( also known as Ishtar, and Nina after which the city of Nineveh was named). She was the goddess of sexual passion, and all of her temples had special rooms where her male worshipers would make love to the priestesses. Also it was required that the maids, and widows, and wives in the Babylonian Kingdom of those days offer their services in the temple at least once in their lives. Certainly, Abraham and his beautiful wife Sarah, living in Ur did not go unnoticed by the official religious system of  their day and most certainly were called upon to attend the services  However, it did not seem to be the sexual practices of the people that offended Abraham seeing how he was so disposed himself to let others court his wife as though she were his sister, but rather it was the fact that the people did not worship the true God.

WORLD HISTORY FROM CREATION PART 9

” And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him. And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren. And he said Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.” ( Genesis 9:24-26)

WORLDHISTORYFROMCREATION(9g)Abraham taught the Egyptians mathematics and astronomy, which knowledge he brought from Mesopotamia, where there were many libraries with records from before the Flood. There are Babylonian tablets still being found in this region that make reference to the time before the Flood. There were two routes through Canaan in the days of Abraham- Abraham preferred to take the lonely, difficult road through the mountainous country rather than going through the fertile valleys of the Plain of Jezreel along the coast of Judah, Abraham must have been a mountain man! And thus he escaped the valley people! The ancient city of Mari was supposed to have been the tenth city built after the Flood. Hammurabi’s Armies destroyed the city. The ancient cities like Mari used methods of rapid communication that were as effective as modern telegraph. The messages were sent by means of “fire signals” from the frontier of Babylon right up to the present day Turkey in a matter of a few hours, a distance of more than 300 miles. Abraham passed through such cities. In the days of Abraham and Moses there was a Great Wall guarding the route into Egypt, called “The Princess Wall”. The wall was armed with Archers on the wall and the towers. The wall, it seems, was built shortly after the Flood when Egypt was being founded. A long account of an Egyptian named Sinuhe tells of his problem of getting across the “Princess Wall” and his life and adventures in Canaan, and his eventual return to Egypt. The story was written at the time of Abraham and gives a good idea what life in Canaan was like then.

We are so blessed today to have The Old & New Testament Bible, and to know all the Word that we know, and have Jesus in our hearts and lives. We who have been saved and received Jesus Christ are no longer under any curses !

WORLD HISTORY FROM CREATION (PART 8 )

WORLDHISTORYFROMCREATION7a

2504 B.C. The Flood  In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened. And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights. In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the Lord Shut him in.  And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered.Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.” ( Genesis 7:11-24).

WORLDHISTORYFROMCREATION7b

“AND GOD remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged; The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the water was abated. And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. And it came to pass at the end of forth days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made: And sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up fro off the earth, Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground; But the dove found no rest fro the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him in the evening; and ,lo, in her month was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew thew the waters were abated from off the earth. And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry. And in the second month, on the seven and twentieth  day of the month, was the earth dried.” ( Genesis 8:1-14).

So Noah went into the ark seven days before it began to rain.( Genesis 7:4,10). Noah was six hundred years old at this time and it rained for forty days. ( Gensis 7:12). The water prevail one hundred and fifty days. ( Genesis 7:24;8:3). They were in the ark one year and seventeen days: five months floating, and seven months on the mountain, after floating some five hundred miles from where it started, the ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. At the base of the mountain today there is a city called Nakhichevan which claims the tomb of Noah. The name of the city means ” here Noah settled” . God designated the rainbow as the sign of his covenant with man kind that there would not be another flood.( Genesis 9:8-17). The earths next destruction will be by fire.(11 Peter 3:7). There are thousands of records in 72 languages that tell of a flood story, most of these speak of the ark. The Weld Prism is a written account of 10 kings who lived before the flood, and they lived exceedingly long lives. Now located a the Ashmolean Museum at Oxford.

WORLD HISTORY FROM CREATION (PART 7)

WORLDHISTORYFROMCREATION7

The birth of Noah’s sons:” And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.” ( Genesis 6:10). Japheth the Elder (he that extends) “And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem,Ham,and Japheth.” (Genesis 5:32). ” Japheth the elder, even to him were children born.” (Genesis 10:21b) The birth of Ham (black). The birth of Shem (he that established) ” These are the generations of Shem: Shem was an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two years after the flood:)

” And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the Lord that he has made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God.” ( Genesis 6:5-9).

” The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive. And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.” (Genesis 6:11-22).

Jesus said; ” But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” ( Matthew 24:37).
