THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” ( Philippians 3:13-14). We need to ask the Lord, “Am I doing The High Calling of God In Christ Jesus?” Jesus tried to tell us about this when he said; “For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.” ( Matthew 26:11). There are many good things you can do, and helping the poor is surely one of them. “Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.” (Psalm 41:1). But is this the most important, most needed job, the highest calling of God for you? The highest calling of God is to obey the Great Commission, which is to; “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15). What are you doing to obey this High Calling? Why should anyone hear the Gospel twice when some have never heard it once? Let me spell it out for you. Don’t get caught in the quicksand of the devils side tracks. Get focused! There are many good causes that you can get caught up in. Get behind a true move of God that is truly teaching the Word of God (like www.answersintheword.com) and do all you can to help promote getting the Gospel out to the unreached World while you can !! “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30). Don’t settle for a little good when you can do better. You are writing your own paycheck with God.

“Reincarnation,” Can you work your way to Heaven?

Billions of people believe that they can work their way to Heaven, and many people believe that when you die, if you were a good person you can go to Heaven, if you are a bad person you will come back as a roach, or a rat, or some other critter. Well the Bible teaches us that once we die then we stand before God to be judged. “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”(Hebrews 9:27). The Bible also says; “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” ( Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace is a gift received at Christ expense. The fact is you can never be good enough to go to Heaven. “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; ” (Titus 3:5).

True Christianity teaches that God is reaching out to man, through his Only Begotten Son Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12). All other religions teach that men and women must reach out to God through their own good works. Jesus loved you so much that he came down to earth to die on the cross for your sins and he rose from the dead. ” that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10). “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6).

Was the leader of your religion born of a virgin, lived a life of love, teaching others to love, forgive and have mercy, and heal the sick, give sight to the blind, and even raised the dead? Jesus Christ did all these things and more. He is knocking on the door of your heart, please let him in.

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

SCRIPTURES ABOUT THE HOLY GHOST.

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:37-39).

“Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.”(Matthew 12:31-32).In the light of all the other verses which teach us that we cannot lose our salvation, this verse can only mean that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is rejection of Jesus Christ, because the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses from ALL sins. (I John 1:7). Also the Holy Spirit leads people to Jesus but does not forgive sins, only Jesus Christ can forgive sins, and save you. “ Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). “Jesus saith unto him, I am the Way the Truth and the Life, No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 14:6).

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.”(Acts 2:1-5). Pray for the gift of tongues. People can receive the gift of tongues when they get filled with the Holy Ghost, but you don’t have to speak in tongues to be saved. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[ a fish, will give him a snake instead?Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”(Luke 11:9-13)

“For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, (Jesus is the Word: John 1:14) and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.”(I John 5:7).The Holy Ghost which is also the Holy Spirit is part of the Trinity or the Holy Family of God.

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26).

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”(John 16:7-11)

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.”(Joel 2:28-31). As things get worse God will pour out more of his Spirit upon his children to help us until Jesus comes and raptures us off the face of the earth.

And they that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days. Now when they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave to them with flatteries.”(Daniel 11:33,34). God will give you grace and power for the hour, when you need it. A little help from the Holy Spirit is a lot of help.

“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”(I Corinthians 10:13).

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea’-a, and in Sa-ma’-ri-a, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). One of the main reasons the Holy Spirit was poured out is to give people power to witness about Jesus. Also the best evidence that someone has the Holy Ghost is that they are always witnessing about Jesus. Not just speaking in tongues. However Paul said, “I thank God that I speak in tongues more than ye all.”(1 Corinthians 14:18).

“And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.” (Romans 5:5).

“And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and. Lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him.”(Matthew 3:16). The Holy Spirit is also sometimes like a gentle dove that can easily be shewed away if we don’t want to listen or yield.

“And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.”(Acts 5:32). The more we obey God the more of the Holy Ghost we get.

“And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”(Luke 1:35). The Holy Ghost possessed Mary and God himself begat his Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ came from Heaven at this time. We are adopted sons and daughters by receiving Jesus Christ as our Saviour.

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis 1:26,27). God and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, were talking and they said; Let US make male & female (Adam & Eve) after OUR likeness, male & female. This verse shows us that there is a male personality and a female personality in the Trinity or the Holy Family, consisting of God the Father, the Holy Spirit the Mother, and the Son Jesus Christ. In Hebrew the word “RUAH” means spirit and was translated into English as the word spirit, and it refers to feminine, and the word Spirit in Greek is “PNEUMA” which can mean either male or female. When the King James Bible was translated from Greek to English in 1611 it was during a time when blasphemers and heretics were burned at the stake. The Scholars who translated the Bible were apparently afraid of saying that the Holy Spirit was feminine so they used the word “he” when referring to the Holy Spirit, instead of saying she as is clearly brought out in Hebrew. Also when Jesus was speaking in Aramaic (the common language of his day) he used a pronoun (PARACLETE) that meant feminine when referring to the Holy Spirit. If it is to much for you to understand and grasp this concept, that the Holy Spirit is feminine then don’t worry too much about it because it doesn’t have anything to do with your salvation, all you have to do is believe in Jesus Christ to be saved. Every place in the Bible where it refers to the Holy Spirit as “he”, a better translation would be “she”. If you prefer to believe that there are 3 guys up there running everything then that is up to you. However to me it makes a whole lot more sense to believe that there is a Father, a Son, and a Mother, the Trinity running things. Remember the few verses that refer to the Holy Spirit as “he” probably came about because at the time that the King James Bible was translated into English from the Greek was at a time when Heretics were burned at the stake, and the translators were afraid for their lives, if they said the Holy Spirit was female.

“I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.” (Mark 1:8). When you get saved, it’s like filling up a glass of water to the top, and when you get baptized or filled with the Holy Ghost it’s like pouring water into a full glass and it over flows. When you get saved you get a measure of the Holy Spirit, but when you get baptized in the Holy Ghost you over flow with the Holy Spirit on to others.

“And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” (John 20:22).

“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;” (Titus 3:5). You can lose the anointing of the Holy Ghost. King David prayed; “Take not thy Holy Spirit from me.” (Psalm 51:11b). You can also get it back and be renewed and regenerated by the Holy Ghost according to where your heart is at, and your obedience or disobedience. You can’t lose your salvation or Jesus, but you can lose, and regain, and renew the anointing of the Holy Ghost.

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2:38). The Holy Ghost is an extra gift you get after you’re saved to help you in your life of following Jesus.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22,23). God’s only law is love when we are yielded to his Spirit. Beloved we need to pray for these gifts of the Spirit.

“For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of Man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” (II Peter 1:21).

“What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?” (I Corinthians 6:19).

“I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire.” (Matthew 3:11). Do you have problems or does someone you know have problems? Maybe they just need to be baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost? Or maybe you and they just need more of the Holy Spirit. I know I do. I can never get enough of the Holy Spirit!!!

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your Children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” (Luke 11:13). Just ask for the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus and God will send her to you.

“He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.” (Acts 19:2). Some people say that you have to have the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues to be saved, but that’s not true. Here in this verse it clearly shows that some saved believers had not even heard of the Holy Ghost yet.

“Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 8:17).

Amen.

PROOF THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. PART 3

PROPHECY “He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living:
for the transgression of my people was he stricken.” ( Isaiah 53:8). FULFILLMENT “When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death: and when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.” ( Matthew 27:1-2).

PROPHECY “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter ,and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,so he openeth not his mouth.”( Isaiah 53:7). FULFILLMENT “And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing. And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee. But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.” ( Mark 15:3-5).

PROPHECY “I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.” ( Isaiah 50:6). FULFILLMENT “Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,  saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?” (Matthew 26:67-68).”And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.” (Matthew 27:30).”And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.” (Mark 14:65). “And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.” (Mark 15:19).”Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.” ( John 19:1-3).

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.

PROOF THAT JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY BEGOTTEN SON OF GOD. PART 2

PROPHECY “The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;” (Deuteronomy 18:15). FULFILLMENT “Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet. Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee? Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”(John 7:40-42). “and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:  whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.” (Acts 3:20-23). “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”(John 3:36). Jesus was both Prophet, High Priest, King Of Kings, and Lord of Lords, The Messiah, and The Only Begotten Son of God.

PROPHECY “Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?  For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.” (Isaiah 53:1-3). FULFILLMENT “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”(John 1:10-11). “But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him: that the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?”(John 12:37-38). “Then assembled together the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders of the people, unto the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and consulted that they might take Jesus by subtilty, and kill him.”(Matthew 26:3-4).

PROPHECY “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.”(Zechariah 9:9). FULFILLMENT “And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.  And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?  And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.”(Matthew 21:8-11).”And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;” (Luke 19:35-37).

PROPHECY “And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.”(Zechariah 11:12-13). FULFILLMENT “Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, and said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.”(Matthew 26:14-16).

Amen.

THE LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST

There is no greater LOVE than the LOVE of God and Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost who are one in spirit. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”(John 15:13). “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). John 3:16 was God’s part and 1John 3:16 is our part. “Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”(1John 3:16).

Jesus is the ultimate manifestation of the LOVE of God. He left the beautiful Heaven of Heavens to come down here to be born and laid in a manger, and be persecuted , and rejected, and despised, and lied about, and betrayed, and finally crucified for you and me. Don’t ever think that God, and the Holy Spirit, and Jesus don’t LOVE you after they did all that for you. They LOVE you and care about you. Even the hairs of your head are numbered. They made you for a purpose and that purpose is to LOVE GOD, and enjoy his LOVE and creation forever, and help others to do the same. “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”(Matthew 22:37-39). “Jesus really loves you and he wants you to know, he will go with you where ever you go.” “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”(Hebrews 13:5). He will never leave you when all others do, and you loose everything and are at the bottom look up to Jesus, he is holding out his hand to you to lift you up.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”(Psalms 40:1-2). You can’t know the LOVE of Jesus until you give him your heart. I know the answer to all your problems. You gotta LOVE the Lord Jesus more and more. Jesus is the LOVE of all LOVES. He knows every thought you think and every move you make. He made you and he wants to fix what’s wrong with you, both spiritually and physically. Just put him first in your heart. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”(Matthew 11:28-30). Just open up your heart and let the SON shine in. Jesus is the answer for the world today. Above him there is no other, Jesus is the way. People need the Lord. The LOVE of Jesus is the best thing that you can have !!!

Amen.

Impetuous Peter

I think most all of us can relate to Peter ( Jesus’s Disciple) and some of the impetuous comments and actions that he said and did. Some of the things he said and did were some what amusing since they hit so close to home because, “We also are men of like passions.”(Acts 14:15).

Impetuous means; saying or acting quickly without thought or consideration. You will see what I mean when you read these verses.

“From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.  But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.”(Matthew 16:21-23). Notice that this happened right after Peter, the only Disciple who said that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God, when Jesus asked them, “who do you say that I am ?”

“And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship. Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.”(Luke 5:1-8).

“Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.”(Matthew 18:21-22).

“Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended. Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee.”(Matthew 26:33-35). Maybe if Peter had said, “By your grace Lord I will never deny you”. Then he wouldn’t have had to go through all this to learn this lesson.

“Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus. Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it?”(John 18:10-11).

“Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head.”(John 13:7-9).

Amen.

Impetuous Peter

I think most all of us can relate to Peter ( Jesus’s Disciple) and some of his impetuous comments and actions. Some of the things he said and did were some what amusing since they hit so close to home because, “We also are men of like passions.”(Acts 14:15).

Impetuous means; saying or acting quickly without thought or consideration. You will see what we mean when you read these verses. Enjoy !

The Real World

This world is not our home. We are just passing through on our journey of life to our real everlasting Heavenly world. All the things that you can touch and see and taste are only temporary and won’t last long. We are just a vapor compared to Eternity. “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” (Hebrews 11:13-16). “while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18). “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2).

“Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations;” (Psalms 49:11a). Knowing all this shouldn’t we be preparing more for our Eternal existence? “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:  but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:” (Matthew 6:19-20). How do we lay up treasures in Heaven ? By winning Souls to Jesus, and helping the Missionaries to win them to Jesus. They will be our brothers and sisters forever in the Kingdom of Heaven. It is hard to find a real Missionary who is teaching the truth. I suggest you hitch your wagon to www.answersintheword.com. and help spread the truth of the Word of God to the World. “For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”(Acts 20:27). It has taken me 50 years to put the pieces of the puzzle of the Bible together for you by the grace and help and leading of the Holy Spirit, and here it is on a sliver platter for you. You don’t need to re-invent the wheel just start rolling with it. For the time is short. Jesus is coming and it won’t be long ! The Spirit World is real, in fact it is the only real World that counts. “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”(John 6:63). “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”(Ephesians 6:12-13). Be a fighter for Jesus in the Spirit, not a physical fighter in the flesh, (and for what?) If you can receive this then Blessed are you! “whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”(James 4:14). “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19). “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” (Luke 9:23-24). Will he say unto you, “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the JOY of thy Lord.” Read Matthew 25:21&23.
