Giving

Jesus said, “give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6:38). You can’t out give God, he will top your sacrifice every time. Jesus gave his all for God and he said follow me. In the “Old Testament” a 10% tithe was required, but Jesus said, “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”(Luke 14:33). “So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.” (Luke 17:10). We are no longer under the Old Testament.Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.” (Romans 7:4). We are New Testament Christians. “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7). He wants us to give voluntarily according to our faith. Jesus told us

The Story of the Widows Mite”And Jesus sat over against the treasury and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make afarthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: for all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.” (Mark 12:41-44). We only teach that each person should give what he or she has the faith to give, and that we give as unto the Lord. The Lord said some are 10% some are 20% some are 100%. We are to give happily and cheerfully from our hearts not hoping to receive. Jesus also tells us, “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:42). We must be careful were we give that it does the most good to preach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ unto all the World. Not false doctrine but the truth backed up by the Word of God to get the best results, or the biggest bang for your buck. There are many good causes, but the best is to give for the truth to be taken to the whole World to fulfill the great commission. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15). Ask the Lord to show you were and to whom to give. Jesus said, “For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.”(Matthew 26:11). “A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it. And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it. And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand. Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away. And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection. But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” (Luke 8:5-15). It’s like the old Preacher said “The Gospel is free, but it costs something to pipe it to you”. When the Lord calls us home and we stand before him would you rather say “I gave to a great ministry that built golden Cathedrals and buildings in your name or thank you Jesus for helping me to give to a ministry that was teaching the true Gospel into all the World”. Do you know of any teachings that teach more truth than www.answersintheword.com? If so, please let us know so that we can get behind them and support and help them. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:36-38). King David said I will not give unto the Lord that with has cost me nothing.

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me your peace. Amen.
