The garden was protected by guardian spirits, and no man entered there. The Great Flood covered these ancient cities, but two men from the British Museum excavated the ruins of Eridu in 1919 and found indication that Eridu was called the Original Home of Man. “And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. And out of the ground made the Lord God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” ( Genesis 2:8,9) Contrary to modern teaching, the Babylonian records show that man originally believed that there was only One God, the Creator of all; and afterwards man started to believe in many gods.
