“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.”(Colossians 2:6-8)
The Bible tells us to beware of the traditions of men because they will spoil us. The only tradition that Jesus commanded us to keep was to have Communion.”That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.” (1 Corinthians 11:23b-26). We love to have Communion, and as a matter of fact we have it every morning before we have our daily devotions and prayer. It’s a great time to get our hearts right with the Lord and ask him to forgive us from all of our sins, since the last time we had Communion the day before. We like to claim the scriptures like, “As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.“(Psalm 103:12), “but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”(1John1:7). So it’s a great time to get right with Jesus and get your sins cleansed away by faith in his blood, symbolized by the wine, and it is a great time to pray for healing for your body, and claim scriptures like, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”(Jeremiah 32:27). “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”(Isaiah 53:5). Remember when you pray, quote the terms of the Contract (The Bible) to the Contract maker (Jesus). This kind of faith pleases the Lord!
Jesus wants us to be free not bound up by a bunch of traditions and rules and regulations. Jesus’s only law is Love. ”Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”(John 8:31-32).
Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
