Are you a Jonah?

Well my answer to their question is: I don’t know about your God, if you even have one, but my God is so big that if God wanted too, he could have made the whale live for three days and nights in Jonah’s belly!!!   God told Jonah to go and preach to the people of the great city Ninevah, and to warn them of his soon coming judgments, but Jonah didn’t want to do that, so he tried to run away and hide from God, and God prepared a great fish that swallowed him up. Finally after three days and three nights when Jonah cried out to the Lord. God made the great fish vomit up Jonah on the beach, probably near Ninevah, and he went and did God’s will and preached and warned the people and they all repented from the least to the greatest of them, and God spared them because Jonah finally did what God wanted him to do. Jesus verified the Biblical story of Jonas when he said “For as Jonas was three days, and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. The men of Nin’-e-veh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.”(Matthew 12:40, 41). Jesus used this true story to show the disciples what he was going to go through. To deny the truth of the story of Jonah is to deny the Deity of Jesus Christ and his Word! “With God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37). “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27). There have been large animals even bigger than a man found in the belly of some Sperm Whales. “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”(Mark 8:36-38) Has God called you and told you to do something? Are you putting it off or dragging your feet? Are you running away from God and his will in your life? Watch out, he might have a big whale or something else swallow you up. Also it is probably not a good idea to go jumping on a boat trip with any Jonah’s, or take any on your boat. “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31). Can you imagine being on the beach one day with a lot  of other people and all of a sudden this huge whale comes up to the beach and vomits out some guy on the sand and he starts preaching to everybody, Wow I bet everyone wanted to hear what he had to say. I know I would, Would you?

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
