THE PRAISE OF MAN !

Oh how we so want and like for everyone to love and like us, and what we say. We want to be accepted and want to please everyone. Abraham Lincoln once said; ” you can please all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” If you value the praise of man you had better catch it quick while it is passing, because it is soon gone. The Bible tells us “not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;  with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:   knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.” (Ephesians 6:6-8).For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” ( 2 Corinthians 4:5). “Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.  Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:  that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;  and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:4-11). Jesus said; “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.” (Luke 6:26). “Yeah and all that will live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (2 Timothy 3:12). So if you’re not suffering some kind of persecution at sometime from someone, then your not living Godly in Christ Jesus. “If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.” (John 15:18-20). Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. (Matthew 5:10-12), Fame and Favor of man are fleeting. ” For neither did his brethren believe in him.” (John 7:5). Until after they saw him rise from the dead ! “But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.  And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went round about the villages, teaching.(Mark 6:4-6).  Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.  He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.  And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.  He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.” (Matthew 10: 34-39). “While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.  But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?  And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!  For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.” (Matthew 12:46-50).

“He is despised and rejected of men;
a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief:
and we hid as it were our faces from him;
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”

“He was oppressed, and he was afflicted,
yet he opened not his mouth:
he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb,
so he openeth not his mouth.”

(Isaiah 53:3 & 7)

“How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? “ (John 5:44)

So beloved seek not to please man, for it will neither satisfy or make you happy very long, but seek to please the Lord.

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I  believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
