This Chapter is one of my favorites. It is an excellent chapter to use for morning devotions.

1. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” The devil is always trying to condemn God’s children. Jesus is always trying to encourage and forgive God’s children. When we listen to the enemy we are not walking in the spirit, and walking by faith.

2. “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.” Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32). The spirit of life in Christ Jesus is walking in the knowledge of the good news of the Gospel. Knowing that you are saved and forgiven, and you can’t loose your Salvation. Actually walking around in condemnation is denying what Jesus did for you ,when he died on the cross and rose from the dead. God wants us, His children to be a shining light, and full of JOY. We should be the happiest, most loving, most kindest, and forgiving people on the face of the earth, knowing that God’s Only Law Is LOVE, and that Jesus will always be with us, and that we don’t have to keep a bunch of rules from man to get to heaven.

3. “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:” Jesus went through all the things that we go through, so he could understand us and love us and have mercy on us, yet he is the only one who never sinned. ^“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15).

4. “that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”If we walk after the spirit and not after the flesh we are walking in real righteousness. Please READ : “Real Righteousness”, in www.answersintheword.com

5. “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.” This doesn’t mean that we can’t enjoy the pleasures of the flesh in the spirit. Think about that one. The things of the spirit are, Love, Forgiveness, and Mercy. God created us to love him and enjoy his creation forever, and to help others to do the same!

6. “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.”Unforgiveness and a lack of love can cause physical sickness, but forgiveness which is being spiritually minded brings on life and peace.

7. “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Like we said , “The Only Law of God is LOVE.” This is a very radical statement if you really think about it.

8. “So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” You can’t please God unless your are walking around in Love and Forgiveness like Jesus did. This is walking in the Spirit of God. “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good;and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy,and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8).

9. “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.” Remember that the sins of the flesh are nothing compared to the sins of the spirit, which are a lack of love, forgiveness, mercy and faith. “judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done,”(Mathew 23:23b)

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I  believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
