MAKING DECISIONS

Does life sometimes seem like some kind of a big test or training school? If you answered yes you are right. We are constantly faced with choices every day that we must make decisions about. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3). We can’t see God, but he can see us, and he knows our thoughts. Thank God he rewards us according to our actions and what we do and not according to our thoughts. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” (Jeremiah 17:9,10). Thoughts are like birds, you can’t keep them from flying over your head, but you can keep them from landing and making a nest in your hair. The Bible says, “casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (II Corinthians 10:5). God lives in the spirit world. It is another dimension. In fact where God and Jesus, and the Holy Spirit live, is an “eternal now”, where time does not exist, and he wants to also live in our hearts. The Lord puts choices and tests in front of us every day to see what we will do, and to teach us lessons. He wants to see if you will pray and do things that please him, and do things the loving way. A wise man will learn from his own mistakes, but a wiser man will learn from the mistakes of others. Experience is often a better teacher but sometimes a bitter teacher. We would do better to seek out the advice of some one who has traveled the same path that we are on. Someone who has made a lot of mistakes themselves and can advise us how not to make those same mistakes’, but it seems that most of us want to learn the hard way from our own mistakes ourselves. The Lord is preparing you to take on more responsibility in the future. If you ask Jesus to come into your heart he will, and he will be with you to help you through life’s pitfalls and quicksand. He will pull you up out of the water when you begin to sink and give you another chance, time after time. Just reach out to him, and he will always be there immediately for you and help you. “Jesus immediately stretched forth his hand and caught him.” (Matthew 14:31).“Like as a father pitieth his children,so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.” (Psalm 103:13 ).

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I  believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
