BE PERFECT

Jesus  said,“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in Heaven is perfect.”(Matthew 5:48). “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”(John 8:29 ). Perfection is something that we need to strive for. We can only be perfect in the eyes of God, by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ his Son. (I John 1:7). Being perfect in the flesh is another story. Jesus said, “It is the spirit that quickeneth;  the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”(John 6:63).“If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.” (Job 9:20). We just never will be perfect in the flesh, but Jesus said for us to strive for that, as God is perfect in Heaven. The Heavenly City is perfect. There are no mistakes in it’s construction. There is not even any dust to have to sweep up.“But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” (James 1:4). Now here is an interesting concept. It actually says if we want to be perfect, that we should want nothing. WOW what a state of blissful mind to be in. Here is something we can try and strive for. It seems like we are always wanting something, but the Bible says that the perfect work of patience is to want nothing, and then we will be perfect and entire. I wonder what that would be like? We might like it if we try it. “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I WILL NEVER LEAVE THEE, NOR FORSAKE THEE.” (Hebrews 13:5). You mean we can just be content with just having Jesus in our hearts? Yes. Praise the Lord ! So don’t let things worry you so much. Most of the things I have worried about never came to pass any way. And if you worry about something to much, it is a lack of faith and you can bring it to pass.“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” (Job 3:25). “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” ( I John 4:18). “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” (I Timothy 6:7,8). “And above all these things put on charity (LOVE), which is the bond of perfectness.” (Colossians 3:14). “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.” (Psalm 37:37).

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
