A CHRISTMAS MESSAGE

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:14). Immanuel means “God with us”. Jesus was born of a virgin: (Mary). “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.” (Luke 1:26-35). “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old,  from everlasting.” (Micah 5:2). The world had to wait over 4,157 years (see the “Age of The Earth Chart” in this website) for the Messiah to be born. Many Scholars believe that Jesus was born in three B.C. You may wonder how people were saved before Jesus was born. They were saved the same way we are saved now, by Grace. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8,9). “But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.” (Genesis 6:8). All they had to do was believe on the Messiah that was to come, as promised in the scriptures and realized they needed God and couldn’t save themselves, they came to know Jesus through the spirit. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,” (Titus 2:11). When the Old Testament Saints died, most went to a place called Paradise, which was located inside the earth. Remember Jesus told the thief next to him on the cross, “to day shalt thou be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43) Jesus told his disciples, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:1-3). Heaven is still being prepared right now at this time. “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21). Your Mansion or Heavenly home is under construction right now. Are you sending up enough materials by your work for the Lord, and winning souls? If we only realized what a priceless privilege, and  opportunity we have in this life time to prepare our eternal home. Someday you will actually see your heavenly abode. Christmas is a time to celebrate. It is a joyous happy time, when Jesus left heaven and came to earth to be born of a virgin and show us God’s love, by ultimately dying on the cross for our sins and rising from the dead three days later. Another really happy time that we should celebrate also is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which we should call Happy Resurrection Day. In fact we as Christian believers can celebrate Jesus’ birth and crucifixion, and resurrection everyday! You may ask, why should we celebrate the death of Jesus Christ? It is because at this time all of our sins where washed away by the Blood of Jesus Christ, for all who have faith in him. How would you feel if on your birthday, everyone gave presents to each other, and not to you? Since it is the birthday of Jesus Christ that we are Celebrating, why not give him the gift that he wants the most from you? Your heart and your love, and help the Missionaries, because in so doing we are giving as unto the Lord. “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me”. (Matthew 25:40).  Praise the Lord, Amen?

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen
