REVELATION CHAPTER 5

Verse 1) AND I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. John is still at God’s Throne. (from Revelation Chapter 4). The books in John’s day were actually scrolls. Books were not commonly used until the second century. This book that John saw had Seven Seals on it. Seven is God’s number and symbolizes completeness. It’s important to understand that in the Book of Revelation there are SEVEN SEALS, SEVEN TRUMPETS, and SEVEN VIALS. Each of these take place at different times. It is extremely important to understand this, and to understand when each of these take place, and ends, and how long they last.

Verse 2-4) And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. John was very sorry and wept much because no man was found worthy to open the book and the seals.

Verse 5-8) And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beast, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beast and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. This is obviously talking about Jesus Christ the Son of the living God. The only one found worthy to take the book from God and open the book and loosen the seals. The seven Horns, and seven Eyes, and seven Spirits are symbolic of Jesus’s omniscient, and omnipresent, and omnipotent power. God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are One in Unity. They are called the Trinity, yet they are three different persons.

Verse 9-14) And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign in the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beast and the elders: and the number of them was an thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. And the four beast said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever. Don’t you want to be on the winning side? Jesus Christ , Lord of Lord’s and King of King’s for ever and ever. Amen!

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
