PITY OR COMPASSION?

Pity is like the person who sits around and reads the News Paper, or watches the TV, and says “My Oh My, the World is such a terrible place, and such a mess, I feel so sorry for them.” Compassion is moved to do something about it. Even if it has a small effect on the situation. Compassion does what it can where it is, with what it has got. Even if it’s just to pray for people. “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:36-38). Jesus taught us to love one another. “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” (John 15:11-14). The Love of Jesus Christ is the answer to the whole World’s problems, if everyone would be like Jesus, the World would be a paradise. We could have a little bit of Heaven right now, IF PEOPLE WERE MOVED WITH COMPASSION. Jesus said to forgive and forget, if we want to be treated the same. Jesus even said love your enemies. “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:” (Matthew 5:44-45a).

Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
