The Lord knows we should be making some progress. But what is progress and Spiritual growth in his sight ? Spiritual growth is growing in the Lord. Most of all it is becoming more like Jesus and becoming more loving, and more merciful, and more forgiving. If we could only realize how important forgiveness is and not only forgiving but forgetting like God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit, and the people in Heaven do. We only hurt ourselves when we don’t forgive and forget because the way we treat others is how we will be treated. “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” (Matthew 7:1-5). It is like the Boomerang, it comes back to us when we throw it out. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7). If we are only forgiven like the way we forgive, then I am afraid that some of us are going to be in bad shape when that day comes. (SEE: Matthew 6:12). He that can not forgive breaks down the bridge that he must cross over himself. “He must increase, but I must decrease”.(John 3:30). Spiritual progress is how much different we are this week compared to what we were like last week, or how much more like Jesus we are today than yesterday. People should say, “WOW, you sure have changed since the last time I saw you.” You can be a new person everyday in Jesus, by simply yielding to the Lord and the Holy Spirit.This comes from Prayer and getting into the Word. “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13).“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Try it !! It will make you happier. “If you know these things happy are ye if you do them.” (John 13:17). You can’t grow if you try to live on a little teaspoon of food every Sunday Morning. ARE YOU GROWING SPIRITUALLY, OR ARE YOU STUNTING YOUR GROWTH ? God sees things different than man sees things. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.For as the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than your ways,and my thoughts than your thoughts.” ( Isaiah 55:8-9).
Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
