When I was around 17 yrs old I thought I was really cool and on top of the world, invincible. I had plenty of money, a night club, a new sports car, lots of girl friends and what ever I wanted. I thought I had it made. I tried everything I played every game in the book and then I found there was nothing in this world to live for. I drove to a gas station, and the attendant came out to fill up my car, which is what they used to do back then, and by the way gas was only .26 cents per gallon. He was about my age and was wearing a crew cut hair style, which just wasn’t with the cool style back then, or at least in my way of thinking. I was setting there looking at the guy pumping the gas, and I asked him what he did for kicks? He was quiet for a moment, and then he turned and looked me straight in the eyes with authority and boldness and said to me “Jesus Christ is my kicks”. Well I couldn’t even answer him back, my whole little dream world had just been shattered, so I just paid him and drove off down the road. I thought WOW this guy had something that I didn’t have and he was willing to stand up for it and be counted, and he was not worried about what people thought about him. The thought came to me as I stopped by the side of the road, “if everyone would be like Jesus this world would be paradise” I just sat there for quite awhile contemplating what had just happened. I guess you could say I had a revelation which has stuck with me to this day over 50 years ago. You never know when the Lord will speak to you, or when you will have the opportunity to say something that can be life changing to someone else ! I’m sure glad he did. Let me ask you today what do you do for fun or kicks?
Say this prayer if you want to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I believe you died on the cross for my sins ,and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
