THE HEAVENLY VISION

The Bible tells us to stay true to the heavenly vision, but what does that mean? Well, God’s Word tells us, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Proverbs 29:18 a).You have to have a vision, a reason for living, a goal, something to strive for. Otherwise without a vision you are just like an astronaut who’s tether line has broken and he is adrift in space aimlessly floating into oblivion.You have got to find that certain something that motivates you and gets you going and out of bed and on track. For some people it is money and the pursuit of material gain. The Constitution talks about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and it guarantees us of that right, but it doesn’t guarantee you will find it.”Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”(Matthew 22:37-39). Beloved any thing that you are pursuing besides this great commandment is just a waste of time and energy and will come to naught. Jesus told us ,”Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:” (Matthew 6:19,20). All the things of this life will surely pass and only what is done for Christ shall last.”the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.”(Matthew 13:45,46 ). Have you found that goodly pearl yet? Have you sold all you have to buy it? If you have, you have made a very wise choice, and investment. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,  I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”(Philippians 3:13,14). Have you found the high calling of God in Christ Jesus for your life? He is no fool, who gives what he can not keep, to gain what he can not loose.

Dreams and Desires

It has been said, ” If you want to make God laugh, just tell him your plans,” It is ok, and good to have dreams and goals and plans for the future, just do what the Bible says; “whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.”(James 4:14,15). Remember to always say “Lord willing”, after you say what your going to do.“Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.”(Psalms 37:4,5). The Lord put it in your heart to have dreams and desires, and he loves you and loves to help you fulfill them. He gives the very best to those that leave the choices up to him. “Who hath directed the Spirit of the Lord,or being his counsellor hath taught him?“ (Isaiah 40:13).  “For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? “(Romans 11:34).“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith  the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8,9). Most Churches have a pre-written program of the service and the sermon and a step by step pre-planned diagram of every thing to be said and done during the service. Can you imagine getting a blank program as you walk through the door, and the Pastor starts off by saying ” Today we are going to let the Lord and the Holy Spirit fill this brochure out.” It is sure a lot more fun and exciting falling into the hands of God and seeing what thrills and intoxications of the Spirit that he has in store for you. Jesus said, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.”( John 4:24). I wouldn’t advise you to say no, or never to God, or to tell him what you are going to do.The Lord may have some greater and bigger plans up his sleeve  for you, more than you can ask or think. Don’t limit the Holy One of Israel ! “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”(I Corinthians 2:9).The future is as bright as the promises of God.”But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”(Proverbs 4:18). Have faith in God that he knows what is best for you and that he has the best plans in store for your future. Just make sure the paths that you choose are according to the Word and the leading of the Holy Ghost. Godly counsel always helps. The Lord often gives you different choices within his will just to see what you will do. It’s like the Bible says “Like as a father pitieth his children,so the Lord pitieth them that fear him.”(Psalm 103:13).Take one day at a time, Don’t worry about tomorrow.“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”(Matthew 6:34).He has got the whole world in his hands. There is not one hair on your head that falls, or one sparrow that falls to the ground unless God allows it for a purpose.“Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.  But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.”(Matthew 10:29-31).The Lord has gotten me out of countless jams that I have gotten myself into, and he has worked things out for good, when I cried out to Jesus ! “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.“(Romans 8:28).

THE PRAYER OF SAINT FRANCIS

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury,pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness,light; and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

Do You Have Time To Pray Today?

I got up early one morning, 
And rushed right into the day; 
I had so much to accomplish, 
I didn’t have time to pray. 

Problems just tumbled about me, 
And heavier came each task. 
“Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered. 

He answered, “You didn’t ask.” 

I tried to come into God’s presence; 
I used all my keys at the lock. 
God gently and lovingly chided, 
“Why, child, you didn’t knock.” 

I wanted to see joy and beauty, 
But the day toiled on gray and bleak. 
I wondered why God didn’t show me. 
He said, “You didn’t seek.” 

I woke up early this morning, 
And paused before entering the day. 
I had so much to accomplish 
That I had to take time to pray.

Counsel and Advise

“Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.”  (1 Samuel 12:23,24). “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” (1 Samuel 15:23a). One of the main ways to find out God’s will is to Seek Godly Counsel.  (see “How To Find God’s Will”). Don’t be to proud to ask for some advise from someone you know has been down the same road that you are contemplating. First pray and ask Jesus to show you his will and then ask other Godly people who have a lot of experience, and have made a lot of mistakes themselves, and are well grounded in the Word. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” ( Proverbs 3:5,6). Get it confirmed by the Word. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” (Isaiah 8:20). Paul lost his life and his head by being stubborn against the Holy Ghost and Counsel of the brethren.  “And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.” “Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.” (Acts 21:4,13,14). Remember that experience is a better teacher, but often a bitter teacher. You only have one guaranteed chance in this life. Don ‘t flub it up! Get some counsel and advise! “For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.” (Proverbs 24:6).

WITNESSING part 1

1) Witnessing for Jesus, and telling people about Jesus is something that you will just naturally want to do after you get saved and meet Jesus personally, after you ask Jesus to come into your heart.

2) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.” (II Corinthians 5:17).

3) Its like finding a cure for cancer or some dreaded disease. You will just automatically want to tell every one about it.

4) And he saith unto them, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. (Matthew 4:19).

5) When I found Jesus and got filled with the Holy Spirit. I just wanted to tell everyone about him, and I wanted every one to be saved and to know JESUS too. I didn’t know anything about the Bible, but I knew that everyone needed to know Jesus.

6)You don’t need a big education in the Bible or anything else for that matter to be a witness for Jesus. All you need is to know is Jesus. “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” ( Acts 4:13).

7) Sure it helps a lot to know all about the Bible to increase your faith and to be a better witness, but if you think that you have got to wait until you are some kind of a perfect sinless saint and have to have some kind of a degree until you can preach the Gospel,  then  the devil has deceived you, and you have listened to his lies. That is one of the devils main jobs is to destroy your witness and keep you from winning souls for Jesus.

8) Just ask Jesus to fill you with the Holy Ghost and to give you the power to be a witness for Him. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).

9) Always uplift the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit will draw people to Jesus. “For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus sake.” (II Corinthians 4:5).

10) Witnessing is our job. We can only witness .What they do with our witness is up to them, everyone must make their own decision.

11) “Preach the Word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and doctrine.” (II Timothy 4:2).

12) Do not wait until you feel led to witness. I have heard this many times from Christians who say they only witness when the Spirit leads them too. You mean to tell me that you are really so yielded to the Lord all the time that you only witness when the Spirit moves you? Wow! Can I get your autograph, and how about the lottery numbers?

13) The Bible says, “Behold now is the accepted time; behold now is the day of salvation.” (II Corinthians 6:2b).Tomorrow may not come for some. “whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:14).

14) When people die who have not been saved, because they never had a chance to know Jesus Christ as their Saviour, or had a true Christian witness, they will have a chance and a witness in the spirit world by an angel or maybe even you. “If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin; but now they have no cloak for their sin.” (John 15:22). Even people in hell can eventually get saved. Jesus said; ” The gates of hell will not prevail against His Church.” In other words the saved Christians will attack hell and witness to the spirits in prison and give them another chance to get out and go to heaven by receiving Jesus Christ into their hearts. “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: by which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;” (1Peter 3:18,19). “for as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.” ( Matthew 12:40). The heart or center of the earth is Gehana, or the Lake of Fire, where the Devil and the worst go. Would you volunteer to go on that mission trip? WOW, I bet you will find some people who really want to see you and hear what you have to tell them after being there for awhile !

The Lord Moves In Mysterious Ways

“0 the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out.”( Romans 11:33). The Lord does move in mysterious, and strange ways.” “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. “(Isaiah 55:8,9). Sometimes God’s way up is down. About the time that you think that you have got God all figured out, watch out because he might have something else up his sleeve in store for you. God loves to surprise his children much like you like to surprise and bless your children, especially when we please him.You just can’t put God in a box ! “For the Lord God is a sun and a shield: the Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. “(Psalm 84: 11). “Delight thyself in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”( Psalm 37:4). ” And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose. “(Romans 8:28). Certain things never change. Thank God! “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today, and forever.”(Hebrews 13:8). But you never know what might come your way in our daily lives, So never limit the Holy One of Israel. You never know what a day may bring forth. So be on the look out for one of Gods opportunity’s and miracles, and blessings that he might bring across your path today. Just ask him to do miracles and believe. In the name of Jesus! Amen?

HEARING THE VOICE GOD

“When the enemy shall come in like a flood ,the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” (Isaiah 59:19b). When the enemy tries to condemn you and remind you of your past mistakes and sins. Just say, “thank you Jesus for forgiving me for that one. “You can’t keep the birds from flying over your head but you can keep them from landing and making a nest in your hair! So don’t listen to the lies of the devil, but fill your heart and mind with positive faith building thoughts from His Word. “Finally my brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”(Philippians 4:11).The most important thing to learn is how to hear from the Lord, fresh everyday, and get your directions from him. You have got to spend some time alone with Jesus if you don’t want to stumble through the day.” I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.’ (Proverbs 8: 17). Begin with a clean heart. Ask the Lord to forgive you for all your sins and give you a clean heart before him “Create in me a clean heart ,0 God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.” (Psalm 51: 10-12 ). “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him and bless his name.” (Psalm 100:4). Take time to thank and praise him. It’s like priming the pump. Take time to listen to the Lord. How would you feel if someone came to visit you, and they did all the talking and wouldn’t even let you get in one word, and just turned around and left after asking you to do a bunch of things for them? “Be still and know that I am God”. (Psalm 46:10). Show some respect and reverence. You wouldn’t come into the presence of a king and just start spouting off a bunch of stuff. God speaks in a still small voice. “And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:  and after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.” (I Kings 19 :11,12). ” And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.”  (Isaiah 30:21). If you really want to hear from the Lord, and you have faith, and are in the spirit when you ask the Lord for an answer, and are sincerely seeking him, you can take the first thing that comes to you.The first thing that you hear in the ears of your spirit (after you have poured out your heart to him) that will come to you will be from the Lord. He will also speak to you from his Word, or a vision or a thought, or through others, (Consider the source). Always confirm everything by the Word. God uses many different ways to speak to us. It seems like a lot of the time he speaks through a still small voice. Take time to listen to the Lord when you pray, and hear what he wants to say to you. “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found ,call ye upon him while he is near:” (Isaiah 55:6). “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me ,when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:12,13). Jesus said to get alone with God and Pray. “But thou, when thou prayest, enter in to thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” (Matthew 6:6). Sometimes the Lord will speak to you with a dream or a vision. “For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;  then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man. He keepeth back his soul from the pit,and his life from perishing by the sword.” (Job 33:14-18). You have to check everything out by the Word. True revelations from God will not contradict the Bible! “If they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” ( Isaiah 8:20) “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8,9). The Lord is always trying to speak to us and show us new things we have to just tune into his broadcasting station. He even speaks to us through his creation, but don’t worship the creation more than the Creator. ” For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” (Romans 1:20).  The Lord even had to create a t.v. show one time for me to watch to speak to me. When I was working as an armored car operator. I came home and watched this show (Starsky and Hutch) about a guy with my same name who was an armored car driver and had a wife and two kids and was living in apartment (My exact same situation at the time). When he got home from work there was some bad guys in his apartment holding his wife and kids at gunpoint arranging a robbery, for him to turn over the money to them for release of his family. I quit the next day and a few days later the truck I was driving was held up and a gun battle took place and one of the Armored car guys was shot and one killed. Thank God I listened, and you will be too. Jesus Loves You, and wants you to be in close communication with him.There needs to be special times when we have desperate prayer to the Lord,when you cry out to him with your whole heart,and on your face alone with God,and not just on your knees,but with tears and sincere desperation,and even prostrate yourself before him. One time God even made a donkey to speak.  “And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.  And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. And God’s anger was kindled because he went: and the angel of the Lord stood in the way for an adversary against him. Now he was riding upon his ass, and his two servants were with him. And the ass saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and the ass turned aside out of the way, and went into the field: and Balaam smote the ass, to turn her into the way. But the angel of the Lord stood in a path of the vineyards, a wall being on this side, and a wall on that side. And when the ass saw the angel of the Lord, she thrust herself unto the wall, and crushed Balaam’s foot against the wall: and he smote her again. And the angel of the Lord went further, and stood in a narrow place, where was no way to turn either to the right hand or to the left. And when the ass saw the angel of the Lord, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam’s anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff. And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?  And Balaam said unto the ass, Because thou hast mocked me: I would there were a sword in mine hand, for now would I kill thee.  And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden ever since I was thine unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? And he said, Nay. Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.  And the angel of the Lord said unto him, Wherefore hast thou smitten thine ass these three times? behold, I went out to withstand thee, because thy way is perverse before me: and the ass saw me, and turned from me these three times: unless she had turned from me, surely now also I had slain thee, and saved her alive. And Balaam said unto the angel of the Lord, I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again. And the angel of the Lord said unto Balaam, Go with the men: but only the word that I shall speak unto thee, that thou shalt speak. So Balaam went with the princes of Balak.”(Numbers 22:20-35). So be on the look out, and be alert and tuned into God, He wants to speak to you today.Will you make time to listen?

How to Find God’s Will

Are you trying to make a decision about something in your life? Would you like to know God’s will about it before you make your decision? The Bible says in Psalm 37:4 “Delight thyself in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart”.God gives the very best to those that leave the choices up to him.Jesus said “But seek ye first the kingdom of God,and his  righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”(Matthew 6:33).Sometimes the Lord will let us make different choices in his will.”According to your faith be it done unto you.”(Matthew 9:29).Sometimes the Lord will allow us to make wrong choices to hopefully teach us lessons from our mistakes so we can learn from them and grow spiritually and help others not to make the same type of mistakes.In fact everyone of us effects others around us. Even Judas was an example of what not to do.The absolutely first and most important test is the Word of God. If it is not according to the scriptures in the Bible don’t do it.”To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them. (Isaiah 8:20).” This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night,that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”(Joshua 1:8).This is the formula to be prosperous, and successful.”But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you, than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.”(Galatians 1:8).The next way to know if something is God’s will for you, if you are not 100% sure, is to seek Godly counsel from people who you know, who love the Lord and are living for him.”By their fruits ye shall know them.”(Matthew 7:20). Another way to know Gods will about something is by dreams, and visions, and prophecys.”For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man precieveth it not. Another way to know God’s will is by open and closed doors, and circumstances, and conditions.”I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it:”(Revelation 3:8a). Many times the Lord will give you a strong desire to do something, this can be a way that God has of getting you to do his will. Just make sure it goes according to his Word. Sometimes you can ask the Lord for a sign or a fleece, like in the book of Judges when Gideon asked the Lord for a sign. (Judges 6:1-40) Just remember if it is already in the Word, don’t expect the Lord to give you a sign to confirm something because he may not. This should be the last way to determine Gods will in a matter. Remember all of these ways to find Gods will need to be backed up by the WORD which is our guide, our measuring stick, our compass and map, whereby we determine all things.
