THANKSGIVING DAY PRAYER

Following a resolution of Congress, President George Washington proclaimed Thursday the 26th of November 1789 a day of “public thanksgiving and  prayer” devoted to “the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be.” Reflecting American religious practice, Presidents and Congresses from the beginning of the republic have from time to time designated days of fasting and thanksgiving (the Thanksgiving holiday we continue to celebrate on the third Thursday of November was established by Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War). In setting aside a day for Thanksgiving, Washington established a non-sectarian tone for these devotions and stressed political, moral, and intellectual blessings that make self-government possible, in addition to personal and national repentance. Although the First Amendment prevents Congress from establishing a religion or prohibiting its free exercise, Presidents, as well as Congress, have always recognized the American regard for sacred practices and beliefs. Thus, throughout American history, Presidents have offered non-sectarian prayers for the victory of the military and in the wake of catastrophes. Transcending passionate quarrels over the proper role of religion in politics, the Thanksgiving Proclamation reminds us how natural their relationship has been. While church and state are separate, religion and politics, in their American refinement, prop each other up.

Issued by President George Washington, at the request of Congress, on October 3, 1789

By the President of the United States of America, a Proclamation. Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor; and—Whereas both Houses of Congress have, by their joint committee, requested me “to recommend to the people of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness:” Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be; that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country previous to their becoming a nation; for the signal and manifold mercies and the favor, able interpositions of His providence in the course and conclusion of the late war; for the great degree of tranquillity, union, and plenty which we have since enjoyed; for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national one now lately instituted; for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and, in general, for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us. And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations, and beseech Him to pardon our national and other trangressions; to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually; to render our National Government a blessing to all the people by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed; to protect and guide all sovereigns and nations (especially such as have shown kindness to us), and to bless them with good governments, peace, and concord; to promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the increase of science among them and us; and, generally, to grant unto all mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as He alone knows to be best. DON’T WORRY ABOUT TOMORROW

Take one day at a time. God gives you faith for the day. Faith for the hour.If you start thinking too far in the future it can get very trying to say the least. There is a certain peace that comes when we don’t worry about tomorrow. In fact Jesus said, “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”( Matthew 6:34). There is enough to have to deal with today, instead of borrowing tomorrows care. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”(1 Corinthians 10:13). Just love the Lord right now and trust him for tomorrow. After all God lives in the eternal now where time does not exist, and so can we when we yield to His Spirit. Jesus gives us grace, and strength for the day, and the hour, and the minute, and the second, one second at a time. That’s why he commanded us to take no thought or worry about tomorrow. It’s not just a suggestion or a good idea. It’s a commandment from the Lord himself. “Put your hand in the hand of the man who walked on the water, and calmed the troubled sea. “See that ye be not troubled.” “Be still, and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10a). Lord help us to learn to rest in you. So let us try it, we might like it.

LITTLE THINGS

I wonder how many little Miracles, which aren’t really little at all, that the Lord does for us each and every day behind the scenes that we don’t even notice that much? Like making you take a wrong turn, and go a different route while driving, and avoid a terrible wreck, which he did for us the other night. The Bible says; Despise not the day of small things (Zechariah 4:10). Little is much if God is in it. “Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (1Corithians 1:20). Also the strong and smart, he sometimes has a hard time using, unless he can get them out of the way in their own minds, so that no flesh can glory in his presence. “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:  but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence.” (1 Corinthians 1:25-29). “Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13) The devil trembles when he sees the weakest saint upon his knees. This is Gods idea of strength. It was said of Sampson “wherein lies your strength”? (Judges 16:6).Apparently he was not a physically strong looking person in the flesh, but God gave him great physical power ( as long as he obeyed God) to kill 1,000 of the enemies of his people the Philistines at one time with the jaw bone of an ass, and he even killed more in his death after his enemies put out his eyes, than in his life, when he destroyed the Temple of Dagon. God told Jeremiah: “Then said I, Ah, LORD GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.  But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.  Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.”  (Jeremiah 1: 6-10). It seems many times to be hard for people who have a lot of physical strength and wisdom, because God has to break them, and humble them so he can use them. So look for those litttle Miracles every day, and pray for them, and pray for the Lord’s protection every time you drive or get out. “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.” (Psalm 34:7).The loss of a nail caused the loss of a shoe, and the loss of a shoe caused the loss of a horse, and the loss of a horse, caused the loss of a King, and the loss of a King caused the loss of a Kingdom. All because of the loss of one nail, a whole Kingdom fell. So don’t forget to take care of little details, before they turn into huge problems. Also don’t say you can’t do something that God has called you to do and let someone else get your crown and reward, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me”.(Philippians 4:13)

SOME DO’S AND DON’TS OF LIFE

Here are some lessons in life I have learned from mistakes I’ve made, I hope these lessons will help you. If you want a happy, less stressful life, learn from these mistakes.  “If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.” ( John13:17). A wise man learns from his own mistakes, but a wiser man learns from the mistakes of others. “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:” (Proverbs.1:5).    Never do business with relatives and friends that you want to keep as a friend. If you want some so called friends to not come around any more just lend them a little money.  Experience is often a better teacher ,but it can also be a bitter teacher.

1) Never get in debt: if you can’t pay cash for it you don’t need it!  “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” (Romans 13:8 )There are some exceptions to this rule like transportation and housing which should be undertaken with prayer and Godly counsel. Make sure you can easily afford the payments. You need to get in agreement with your spouse on every major purchase anything over $50.00 should be agreed upon by both parties. It is better to have one purse, not separate accounts. That’s the way we do it, and it works out pretty good. It’s like a check and balance to keep the budget and the balance from going overboard and into The Red Sea !.

2) Build your house upon the rock Jesus Christ  ” Therefore whosoever hearth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house: and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended,and the floods came, and the winds blew,and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” (Matthew 7:24-27). Fulfill these verses by praying together and reading the Bible together with your family on a daily basis.

3) Always give of what God blesses you with to help his work. The Old Testament says to give 10%. In the New Testament Jesus said to give 100% “So likewise. whosoever he be of you the forsaketh not all that he hath,he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:33). The way you give all to the Lord is by first taking care of your family, which should all be Missionaries anyway, and therefore your’e main mission, and you can help the other Missionaries as the Lord provides and leads you too. You are either a Missionary or a Mission field. Your whole life should be a life of service to the Lord and your family. If you can’t be a missionary help support them.

4) Don’t get a bunch of credit cards, they are to much of a temptation and a trap. Cut them up. If you just have to have one pay off the balances monthly or the interest will eat you up. It’s better to have no credit cards, because most of you will keep them maxed out.

5) Unless your really rich don’t get a swimming pool. It’s just a whole in the ground to throw money into. You can always go to a lake, beach, or swimming park. Also pools are very dangerous for kids and a constant worry and up keep.

6) Unless your really rich don’t buy a boat it’s just a hole in the water to throw money into.You can always save your money and go on a cruse or rent a boat. DON’T DO IT  !!!!!

7) Try to set some money aside on a weekly basis for a rainy day. Even a small amount will add up. Emergency’s, breakdowns, and repairs will always come. Pray over your vehicles, and house. Have “Communion” often.

8) Have a flee bag, like a suitcase that you can quickly grab with your important papers in it like passports, birth certificates, social security cards, Wills, insurance policy’s, title to your car, home owner documents, checks and funds, in case of fire, hurricane, or storms, or some emergency or a major event so you will be able to grab your flee bag, and move quickly, have meeting places and who will pick up kids from school etc,

9) Have a fire drill, make sure you have smoke alarms with fresh batteries. Replace them every time they change the day light savings time.

10) Prior maintenance on your vehicles is very important, always check your fluids every time you get gas or at least every other time you get gas.

11) Don’t smoke at ALL or drink too much, you will be sorry if you don’t keep up your health,eat foods that aren’t loaded with all the bad fats & bad sugars & less salt. Eat more fresh fruits, & vegetables. Whole grains, more fish,chicken ,turkey, beans,( lentils, black beans, split peas, Navy beans etc.) Take vitamins and get lots of exercise. Pray before your meals and thank the Lord for his provision, and to bless and to nourish it to your body.

12) Memorize the WORD and WITNESS to others about Jesus. All the things of this life will surely pass, only what’s done for Christ will last. “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”(Matthew 6:19-21).

13) Have life Insurance policies on you and your spouse,and kids.

14) Add lessons you learn to this list and pass them on to your loved ones.

15) Make a plan to get out of debt and invest. God’s law of averages is to increase or you’ll loose what you’ve got.

16) Learn a trade like mechanics, electrician, carpenter, Doctor,nurse,something that pays good and that there is always a need.

17) If your in God’s will he will be blessing you in someway, either spiritually or materially, if not the trouble is with you or your location.

18) Never quit your job until you find a better one first. Do your best be a good sample for Jesus! Let your light shine. “Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ JESUS concerning you.” (I Thessalonians 5: 16-18).

19) Choose your friends wisely and prayerfully. Don’t associate or hang around people who effect you negatively. “Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?” (Proverbs 6:27). It is better to have no friends than the wrong kind of friends ! ( John Chapter 15) Please take the time to read this Chapter. It is about having the right type of friends.

20) Keep your kids, family and yourself in the Word & Witnessing.  “Come unto me,all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11: 28-30). If your not getting at least 8 hrs of good sleep a night your doing something wrong and hurting your self and your health, and you need to make changes in your life style. “It is vain for you to rise up early. to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.”(Psalms 127:2)

21) Watch out for to much sun it will cause skin cancers to show up when you get older.Get them treated right away if they do. Always wear a hat and good sunblock,and sun glasses.

22) Remember folks words are real things, the way you talk to your children help form their vocabulary, and their future..

Did you ever notice what Jesus said after he rose from the dead? He said “go and tell the disciples and Peter” (Mark 16:7). The Lord knew how Peter felt after he denied Jesus three times. Peter must have felt horrible,and probably thought he had lost it all, his salvation, his discipleship, his rewards and place in Heaven. Jesus mentioned his name special to reassure him that he loved him and forgave him. Isn’t that wonderful and beautiful? The Lord probably let that happen for a special purpose to humble him and make him more loving and forgiving toward others so he could use him as a great leader and teacher.Sometimes Gods way up is down, and “Who can understand the ways of the Lord? “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:8,9).“All things work together for good to them that love the Lord .” (Romans 8:28).It seems like every great man in the Bible that God mightily used had to go through great humblings and breakings, and make big mistakes, and sins ,before God could use them for his special purpose, when their hearts got to the point where they were utterly dependent upon God’s mercy, and not their own strength and self righteousness. How many jams has God gotten you out of from your mistakes and sins? How many times has he turned things around for good in your life from seeming disasters which we have caused by our own sins and misdeeds? One thing for sure it gives hope to us that if the Lord could forgive Peter for denying him three times  (Probably one of the worst sins of all), and then mightily use him, then there is hope for us too. Amen!

DON’T LOOK AT THE WAVES !!!

Why couldn’t there be more Love? That’s just one thing that I could never get enough of. Why couldn’t there be more love? When I was around 16 years old I was driving down the road one day and the Lord spoke to me, and He said; “If everyone would be like my Son Jesus the world would be a paradise.”
Wow, I pulled over to the side of the road and I was just stunned for a while thinking about that.You know after all the love, and mercy, and goodness that the Lord has shown us,we ought to be the most kindest, loving, sweetest, humble, and forgiving people on the face of the earth. Lord help us. “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion upon them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.”(Matthew 9:36). Compassion has to start with each of us in our own hearts and it comes from the Lord by asking him to help us to see others as he sees them? “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5,6). If we acknowledge him in ALL our ways we will be walking in the Spirit of the Lord and things will work out much better for us. Just knowing that Jesus is there watching over us and that he will never leave us or forsake us gives such comfort and Faith to make it thru the day, and whatever lies in front of us.When we look to Jesus we can walk on the water, but when Peter took his eyes off the Lord and started looking at the waves he began to sink. “And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?” (Matthew 14:31). This verse shows us how quickly Jesus will be there for us when we take our eyes off of him, and start looking at the waves and begin to sink. All we have to do is cry out to him, and he will IMMEDIATELY stretch forth his hand and save us !

Margaret Mead, one of the leading teachers on the THEORY of evolution said in the front of her text book on evolution which is taught to our children and paid for by our tax dollars, said “Although I am a firm believer in the THEORY of evolution, yet I must confess that there is not one iota (Tiny speck) of concrete proof for the THEORY of evolution.” Some peoples minds are  made up and they don’t want to be confused with the facts. It takes more faith to believe in evolution than it does in the Bible! Evolution is a religion of non faith in the Bible and God. In fact you can not believe in Evolution and the Bible. The Bible clearly teaches that the world is only a little older than 6,000 years, and not millions or Billions of years old! (See the age of the earth chart).The Bible says God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit made man and woman in their own image.“ And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Genesis 1:26,27).“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” (John 1:1-3) God made man and women with one head, two arms, and legs ,ten fingers, on two hands, and ten toes, on two feet, after God and Jesus’s and the Holy Spirit’s own image. Not from an amoeba or a  frog or a monkey. Has charles darwin made a monkey out of you? If evolution were true then we would be up to our necks in missing links, and yet they have not even found one, and the few that they claim to have found have been proven to be fakes and forgeries, and made up lies.The reason people choose to believe in this lie (from the devil) of evolution is because they are in rebellion in their hearts against God, because if they chose to believe in God and that he created them and everything else, then they might owe him some respect and obedience and some thankfulness and allegiance. So God allowed the devil through charles darwin to concoct this ridiculous scheme and lie from hell. No wonder the young people are having such problems, because they are taught that there is no God, and no judgement day, and no right from wrong, well then why not just live a selfish life, and climb the latter of success, and try and step on as many heads as you can to get there, and get as much as you can for yourself ? If you’re just going to die and that is it, no after life ,no Heaven or Hell, no judgement for right or wrong and we just came from a monkey.  Hitler, and Stalin, and Mao, some of the largest mass murders of millions in history, were firm believers in evolution. The Lord showed me that the public school system of today is like the god molech that the children of Israel threw their babies into, that they really didn’t want any way, and in it’s giant belly there was a raging fire where they would be burned up alive. This is what is happening to them spiritually in the eyes of God  from the false teachers and high priests of evolution in the school system! There is proof for the Bible through fulfilled prophecy. Which are you going to believe in?

God Answers Prayer !

We need to remember to pray for those who are persecuted for the Gospels sake and who are in prison and being tortured and separated from their family’s for being a Christian and preaching the Gospel and standing up for Jesus. After all they are our brothers and sisters in Christ. “Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.”  (Hebrews 13:3). “For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” (Mark 3:35). Ask the Lord to pour out his spirit on them and give them the grace to go through their trials and be a witness even unto death. “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.” (Psalms 116:15). Persecution of Christians is greatly on the increase as things wind down in these End Times. “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” (Revelations 12:12). So, pray often for our brothers and sisters in bonds for the Gospel as being bound with them. God is on the Throne Forever and prayer changes things. Stand up for Jesus all ye Christians and VOTE as the forces of Darkness try and engulf America and the rest of the world. It is high time to wake up if you value your freedoms. Stand up for the truth. Pray for God’s people. Amen!  “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.” (II Timothy 3:12). If they arrested, you for being a Christian would they have enough evidence to convict you?

A CALL TO BATTLE. ATTACK !

We as Christians are at war against satan and his forces,and we have all been drafted in to serve in the Lord’s army as soon as you got saved. lt’s not like being in the armies of this world where you only serve for a time, but in the Lords army there is no discharge. You’re in for Life, lifers until the day God calls you home, and guess what, the war still goes on in the spirit world too.

“There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it.”( Ecclesiastes 8:8). The Lord doesn’t want people to just use him as a fire escape,as many do, but to help reach the many lost souls that are about to fall off the cliff. lf you saw someone about to drive off a cliff and they didn’t even know it, you would surely try and stop them, right? Well that is what is happening spiritually.“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” (II Timothy 2: 3,4). “Put on the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”(Ephesians 6:11-18). You may lose a few battles, but you haven’t lost the war, the war is not over until every soul is won. Jesus said, “the gates of Hell shall not prevail against his CHURCH.” (Matthew 16:18) THIS IS NOT A PICTURE OF HIS CHURCH HIDING BEHIND A WALLED FORTRESS WHILE THE ENEMY ATTACKS, BUT IT IS A PICTURE OF THE CHURCH ATTACKING THE VERY GATES OF HELL ITSELF!!! “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”(I Peter 5:7). “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”(Isaiah 26:3) . We need to pray every day for an out pouring of the Holy Spirit upon us to give us Gods strength and power for the day. Jesus commanded us to take one day at a time. “Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” (Matthew 6:34). Take time for God’s Word every day just as you feed your body your spirit needs to be nourished also. If you get alone with God even if for a short time, and read your Bible, the Holy Spirit will show you wonderous things. “Open thou mine eyes that I may behold wonderous things out of thy law.” (Psalm 119:18).“Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.” (Job 23:12). “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalm 119:105). So don’t go stumbling around in the darkness of this world or you are apt to fall down and get hurt. Take the lamp of God’s Word with you to shine on your path. If you really want to have a good time. Don’t settle for the devils counterfeit. Get high on the Most High and crash on Christ. Jesus is the ultimate trip, the ultimate high, the ultimate joy and peace. He’s the coolest of the cool that ever was or ever will be, and he’s there for you for the asking. He will forgive you, and he will never let you down. He’s the best friend you could ever find.
