THE DIFFERENT LEVELS OF HELL

Now let us learn about the different levels of Hell. People don’t like to think about this subject because it is too scary and they don’t want to go there, but the fact is that Hell is mentioned in the King James Bible many times. Hell is translated from several different names with various different meanings. In the Old Testament Hell was translated from the word “Sheol” a Hebrew word which means the place of the dead departed spirits. In the New Testament it was translated from the Greek word “Hades” which also means the grave, and place of the dead . Hell was translated 12 times from the Greek word “Gehenna” which means a place of burning, and once from the Greek word “Tartarus”, which means a place of darkness. Most people would just like to pretend that Hell does not exist, but that does not change the fact that it does exist. Jesus talked about Hell 16 times. “Sheol” used to contain a place called “Paradise” where the Old Testament prophets and Saints went after they died to wait for the resurrection of Jesus Christ, when Jesus came to take them to the Heavenly City, when he himself resurrected from the dead, after going to the heart of the earth to preach to the spirits in prison.Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, and came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.” (Matthew 27:50-54). This place “Paradise” still exists. It could be used as a place where some unsaved people go after death. Jesus told the thief on the cross who was dying next to him, “And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”(Luke 23:43). “Hades” a Greek word is referred to as Hell, and “Gehenna” a Greek word is the Lake of Fire. It was named after a garbage dump called “Gehenna” in the valley of Hinnon near Jerusalem where they burned trash and dead bodies which died of Leprosy, and the fire never went out. So it is obvious that there are different levels and degrees of Hell and punishment in the after life for what a person has done in this life. The good news is that you don’t have to go to Hell. All you have to do to be saved from Hell is to receive Jesus Christ as your savior by asking him to come into your heart and believing that he is the Son of God and that he died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead.”That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto unto salvation.” ( Romans 10:9 & 10).“And fear not them which kill the body but are not able to kill the soul, but rather fear him which is able to destroy both body and soul in Hell.” (Matthew 10:28). “And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire;”(Jude1:23a). Jesus said, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”(Revelation 1:18).God is a loving God who wants everyone to go to heaven, in fact he loves you so much that he gave his only begotten son to die for you, and take away all your and my sins so we could go to his Heavenly City forever.Just by receiving his only begotten Son Jesus Christ into your heart, as your Saviour. Would you give up your only Son who you dearly loved more than anything, to die for somebody who is doing bad things and saying bad things that displeased you? What love. I can’t even understand such love. We will never know how much it cost to see our sins upon that cross. The dangerous false doctrine and teaching that people have to go to hell forever, sends many people to hell and turns them away from Jesus, because it offends their sense of God’s love, justice, and mercy. There is hope even for the people in Hell.“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation;” (Hebrews 2:3). God does not send any body to hell. They send themselves by rejection of Jesus Christ as their Saviour. Jesus said, ” If I had not come and spoken to them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.” (John 15:22). People who have never had a true Christian witness about Jesus are not accountable. They will have a chance to receive Jesus and be saved when they die. Some Angel or some departed brother or sister will witness to them and they will have a chance to be saved. “The grace of God that bringeth Salvation hath appeared unto all men,” (Titus 2:11). Where are you going when your time on earth is up? Where are the people you know going? Where are the people you meet going? What are you going to do about it?

Say this prayer to be saved: Jesus, I want to know you, and to live forever in Heaven, I know I have made mistakes and done bad things- and I am sorry. Please forgive me. I know I don’t deserve it, but I accept your love and I accept you as my Saviour. I  believed you died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. Please come into my heart and life and fill me with your Holy Spirit and give me peace. Amen.
